In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Eugene Abels

Eugene Abels is an advocate for best practice, accountability and justice. He has cognate experience that spans across the private,public,real and extractive sectors of the Nigerian Economy. He's very passionate and purpose-driven with a great empathy for Environmental Justice , Abuse against the child and female gender , and is insistent on performance based . He is the lead person in the #stopthesoot campaign and with his non government platform “The Extra Step Initiative “ , they have dragged the Federal Government of Nigeria and her agencies to court for the enforcement of our “Right to a clean Environment “ as enshrined in the African Charter on our right to a clean environment to which Nigeria is a signatory.

Iyenemi Kakulu

PROFESSOR OF LAND MANAGEMENT AND VALUATION
A leader in the real estate industry and in academia within and outside Nigeria. Professor Iyenemi Ibimina Kakulu is a Chartered Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors with over 35 years of academic experience and research published in several academic works. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Estate Management from the Rivers State University, a master of science in Urban Land Appraisal and a doctoral degree Real Estate and Planning from the Henley Business School, University of Reading, United Kingdom. Professor Kakulu’s recent works include monitoring the impact of climate change-induced flooding in coastal cities on property investments valuation. She has initiated and supervised postgraduate works on climate change in property management, the adaptation of buildings, and strengthening disaster preparedness of coastal towns to these changes amongst other productive works.

Mohammed Ali

HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT & SECURITY EXPERT
He is an experienced exploration and production health and safety professional, who is also a kickstarter of programs for greener power sources that ignites the minds of future thinkers in a bid to drive the birth of a different train of thought for the green energy race. Mohammed Ali is a director in a multi-webbed company, Famzon Nigeria, which is gradually building a name with waste-to-power solutions and continually developing methods of intelligently simplifying solutions in waste management and alternate sources of power.

Oghosa Erhahon

LAWYER AND ENERGY SECTOR ADVISOR
Oghosa is a Lawyer and Energy sector advisor. She is an enthusiast for sustainability especially on access to energy. Oghosa has previously worked to demonstrate the impact of energy access on sectors and industries and provides support on low carbon emission strategies that promote cleaner energy. Oghosa was born in Port Harcourt, where she had her early-stage education, then moving to the UK. She currently works and lives in Abuja, Nigeria.
