Theme: The Ocean Of Courage

TEDxLCC is the first TEDx event in Klaipėda. The theme of this event is "Ocean of Courage". We wanted to find people who have done something courageous, and that brought value to their lives. It is to our belief that sharing of ideas from different spheres of life, helps to discover new talents and connects people with different mindsets.

Our primary objective is to inspire you for a courageous ACTION, not just words.

TEDxLCC invited brilliant thought leaders from Lithuania in order to enlighten your mind and give the courage for the most daring dreams you have!

Occupation: Stage director, professor at Klaipėda University; Topic of the Talk: "Meeting new people,new challenges" "The talk is about how to use our imagination preparing for being both brave and positive in unexpected circumstances. I'm going to share with participants my experience how to transform the fear facing unknown situation into the joy of some discovering and accepting it."

Giedrė Žlabytė

Occupation: The business owner and manager of a show theatre troupe "JEIGU" (surprise theatre "If"); MC (presenter/host) in different events, presentations and seminars (10 years of experience).; Topic of the Talk: "Just say YES!" "The speech is about the power of saying YES to new ideas and how it can change our everyday life and work. It is about the courage of integrating different things with each other and thus creating the new approach to business management and learning. In other words, how to use improvisation and theater techniques in business training."

Petras Lisauskas

Occupation: Dancer, performer; Topic of the Talk: "Daring to talk in universal language" "Movement is the most universal language which is understood unconscious. You need lot's of courage to let your self lend an ear on it."

IMPRO 241

Occupation: Theater improvisation group IMPRO 241. First stepped on stage 3 years ago in Vilnius. From then they actively perform at cafes, festivals, non traditional spaces, schools, and universities Since 2012 the group organized seminars for theater of improvisation.; Topic of the Talk: "How much courage do you need to step on the stage?" "What it is like to act without staged rehearsals? What are highs and lows of theatre improvisation? Is it so terrible to make mistakes or is it fun? IMPRO 241 have the courage to inspire you for everyday challenges!"

Dr. Gregory Sandstrom

Occupation: Professor at Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences, Vilnius; Topic of the Talk: "Courage to Extend Humanity: Facing the Challenge of Evolution, Creation and Intelligent Design" "This presentation speaks to the debate about ‘scientific revolutions' and asks whether or not science can work together with philosophy and religion to promote human dignity, cooperation, altruism and flourishing."

Sergej Matiunin

Occupation: Language hunting pirate; Topic of the Talk: "Hunting the lingual treasure chests" "One of the most courageous characters of our childhood were pirates hunting treasures. Adventures are still being written about them, they'd go overseas, to unusual islands, what's moreover, they were a devotees for life! I'm about to share, how I became a language hunting pirate in a short amount of time, plus demonstrate what my boat, experience, and treasures are all about.
