Theme: Between Yes and No

One problem young people suffer nowadays is making hard decisions between yes and no; between what they fear to confront that may stand between them and their dreams. Between the routine and pressures of life, and the necessity of leaving for the sake of making progress.

In view of the above, TEDxSanaaSalon "Between Yes and No" tackles two significant issues:
The first one is: “Social Phobia” or “Social Anxiety Disorder” (SAD), which is a tense state that isolates a person from people and society and prevents him from advancing and achieving his life goals. This is through discussing the video "Social Phobia" by the Yemeni singer Balqees Fathi, in which she tells how she suffered from “SAD” and how she was able to conquer it.

It will be further discussed through the following TEDx Talk: Social Anxiety Disorder | Balqees Fathi | TEDxMuscatWomen.

The second one is: "Learn when to leave", which is a life skill that teaches people the significance of breaking down red tape and say goodbye to all that drain their energy and time without any tangible results. And leave for the sake of fulfilling themselves and seek new opportunities. This is through discussing the video "Learn when to leave" by Dr. Anmar Mutawa, who explains the significance of leaving everything that exhausts people, disturbs or harms them, and may even shatter their future.

And based on the old saying: “A Problem Well-Stated is Half Solved”, this salon came to enlighten people and help them understand how to deal with two issues and even help others who suffer from them before it is too late.

He has published more than 15 specialized studies and researches at a local, regional and international level in the human rights and social fields. He has also Prepared and developed over 10 specialized training manuals and trained more than 30 clients from governmental, non-governmental, and regional organizations which helped to benefit more than 11500 people.

Ghadeer Al-Maqhafi

Executive Director of the Yemeni Business Club

She began her journey with TEDxSanaa in 2017, managing and working as a coach for the speakers starting from TEDxSanaa, TEDxSanaa Women, TEDxSanaa Life, TEDxSanaa Countdown, and TEDxSanaa It's Time. Moreover, she works in the economic field and the governance of Yemeni companies and banks, and also as a consultant to support entrepreneurship through her position as an executive director of the Yemeni Business Club and its entities; the Yemeni Institute of Directors, and the Business Support Center in Yemen.
