Garry Smith

Chief Executive Officer for the Medaille Trust
Garry is the CEO of the Medaille Trust – an organisation tackling modern slavery and human trafficking. Garry’s speech will show how modern slavery is everywhere, in the sense that people are exploited in a multitude of ways across the UK and beyond. For example, from where you buy your flowers to the person cleaning your car or painting your nails. Garry’s speech fits the theme of ‘Come Together’ as he will highlight particular cases where Medaille’s contacts across the world, have enabled them to save victims of human trafficking and slavery. He asks us to hold our government, big corporations and most of all ourselves, accountable for keeping supply chains running which facilitate the continuation of modern slavery.

Sanisha Wynter

Diversity and Inclusion Consultant
Sanisha has a career in diversity and inclusion, supporting workplaces and communities to further equality. As a Black, bisexual woman with Borderline Personality Disorder, Sanisha’s story highlights key issues surrounding homophobia, racism and disability discrimination. In accordance with the theme of ‘Come Together’, Sanisha will discuss how her involvement with the UK Black Pride movement urged her to face the isolation she had felt growing up and subsequently encourage others to do the same.

Tally Rye

Influencer, body positivity advocate, author + podcaster
Tally is an influencer and body positivity advocate. She is well known for challenging unhelpful fitness culture and promoting exercise to feel good and not necessarily to look good. Tally’s speech will tackle the theme of ‘Come Together’ via addressing the need for a collective push back on anti-fatness attitudes which fuel diet culture. Tally highlights that building her online community has meant she can raise awareness of self-care and compassion when it comes to personal fitness. Tally hopes that her speech will encourage others to reconnect with their bodies and ask the question ‘How would I choose to move my body if it had zero impact on my weight or appearance?’.
