Andrew Claster

Consultant
Andrew Claster is a political and corporate data, analytics, polling and messaging campaign strategist based in Washington DC. In 2012, Mr. Claster served as Deputy Chief Analytics Officer for President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, where he helped create and lead the Obama Analytics team of more than 50 analysts, statistical modelers and engineers. Mr. Claster’s current and former clients and employers include Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, US Census Bureau, Access Democracy, Disney, Verizon, and the Washington Nationals. Mr. Claster previously worked at the World Bank as a consultant leading a 115 country survey research project among central bankers and commercial bankers regarding access to banking and other financial services. Mr. Claster completed his undergraduate studies in political science at Yale University and his master’s degree in economics at the London School of Economics.

Barbara Connolly

Founder/President, College Choice Counseling and TutorsCCC
Barbara Connolly, JD, CEP is a private college consultant in Birmingham, Michigan. She is the founder and director of College Choice Counseling and TutorsCCC with a team of expert counselors and tutors located throughout the U. S. and in Montreal, Canada. Ms. Connolly is the author of College Admission Success. She is a monthly columnist for MediaNews Group which publishes her column on topics related to college in eight publications. She appears in local and national media to speak about college counseling and being a woman’s business founder. Ms. Connolly is a lawyer, certified educational planner (CEP), a former admissions reader at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, and a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA).

David Detzler

Environmentalist
David Detzler is a degreed chemist with 45-years of experience in the automotive industry. He attended Michigan State University as a National Merit Scholar and at the age of 20 was invited to take the rare step of conducting research along-side doctoral students and was recognized for his senior thesis identifying the dangers of the chemical 2-4-dichlorophenoxyacetic, what the world would later come to know as “Agent Orange” After University Mr. Detzler become a material’s engineer and later a senior manager at Chrysler Automotive. While with Chrysler Mr. Detzler would research and shepherd in many advancements to the world of coatings, including the first to introduce powder coating (an environmentally safe industrial paint) to the American automotive market. Mr. Detzler continues today in his work pressing Automotive companies and industries as whole to move towards more environmentally conscious manufacturing methods and materials.

Mackinzie Loughlin

CNC Machinist
Mackinzie Loughlin is a full time CNC Machinist. He holds and pursues formal qualifications specifically related to Manufacturing Technology. Mr. Loughlin has spent the majority of his career hands on in the manufacturing space. With 12 years in this industry, he has developed a wide skill set which he uses on the shop floor, as well as in education to assist in preparing students for trade related careers. Mr. Loughlin is a member of an Occupational Advisory Committee aimed at shaping High School Tech-Ed Curriculums to suit today’s needs. Informally, Mr. Loughlin endeavors to have a practical knowledge base in problem solving, business strategy, continuous improvement, and process engineering.

Sherrie Smith

Farmer, Organizer, Homeschool Mom, Connection & Engagement Cultivator
Sherrie Smith was born in 1979 in Detroit, Michigan to her loving parents, Larry and Sylvia. The youngest of 3 children, she loved to read, imagine and talk! An Alum of Detroit Public Schools and Cass Tech High School graduate, after high school she attended Michigan Technological University, University of Detroit Mercy, Oakland County Community College and Rochester College before graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology in 2005. Ms. Smith has a love for people that she has expressed through mentoring, community organizing, volunteering and farming and gardening. One of the things Ms. Smith is most proud of is homeschooling her two youngest children. She aims to ensure that all people that she meets feel loved and are mentally healthy and supported. Today she is a mother of four via biology and adoption and is fully invested in expressing radical love to build connection and community.

Victoria Gordon

Apprentice Coordinator & Teacher, Macomb Community College
Dr. Victoria Gordon joined Macomb Community College in 2010. As the Apprentice Coordinator for the College, she is responsible for coordinating the educational programs in the areas of apprenticeship, employee-in-training, Applied Technology non-apprenticeship training, and other special training programs. Dr. Gordon has a broad range of experience in higher education. She has been involved in many initiatives promoting the occupational and training needs of industry. In her experience prior to Macomb, Dr. Gordon worked more than a decade as a Tool Designer and Project Coordinator within the Southeast Michigan manufacturing sector. Dr. Gordon holds a Doctorate of Education in Community College Leadership from Ferris State University and was a 2016 recipient of the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence in Teaching Award.
