Adriana Richard is a 18 year old college student studying at Shippensburg University to become an elementary school teacher. However, Adriana has also had type one diabetes since the age of 5. Although she has experienced a lot of wonderful moments in advocacy, she has also experienced a lot of heartbreak. Adriana has learned how to use her voice in different ways to help her community stand on its feet again. Adriana is excited to speak at TEDx Williamsport so she can be a voice for kids who are struggling like she once did. She knows that this is what she would have needed as a kid with T1D.

Dan Brauning moved his family to the Williamsport area from Philadelphia in 1990 to start his career with the Pennsylvania Game Commission as an Ornithologist. During this tenure, he co-authored, The Birds of Pennsylvania with Gerald McWilliams in 1992 and co-editor of The Second Pennsylvania Breeding Bird Atlas in 2012. He has been studying birds and promoting an appreciation for them for many years. He is active in his church, happily married to Marcia, and father of three song who have given us four grandchildren.

Dr. Howard T. Woodruff is a sought after international public speaker and expert in crisis and stress preparation and remediation. Born in Williamsport, he was one of the earliest Paramedics in the county. After answering the call to ordained ministry, he continued his service to others by serving as a chaplain to various EMS and fire agencies as well as to the Pennsylvania State Police. He served at Ground Zero and in India following the tsunami in 2004. He now speaks on and assists others in preventing stress and crises from dominating their lives. He also serves as Deputy Coroner in Lycoming County.

Jennifer Demchak is an Associate Professor in the Natural Sciences Department at Mansfield University and owns WATER, LLC., an environmental consulting company. She has worked 19 years restoring watersheds throughout Pennsylvania and fourteen of those sharing her passion and knowledge with tomorrow’s environmental leaders. She has a PhD in Soil Science from WVU. In the summer of 2021, she began a MS in Safety Science from IUP. She has been busy presenting an OSHA webinar, writing a paper on resilience, and teaching new courses at MU. Her free time is spent cooking with her daughter Katie and road trips with her partner Gary.

He currently serves as president of Reading with Pictures, an organization dedicated to the joy of reading and lifelong multi-literacy through the comic arts at all levels of education. His ultimate objective is to help struggling students discover the joy of learning.

Shaheem is a senior currently attending the Williamsport Area High School and plans to further his education at a university in the fall. His perspective on life has been shaped on the number of places he has lived. Including South Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Shaheem has a love of sports as seen through his participation in Cross country, track and field, and basketball. His current interests are learning about the world around him. While exploring the topic of interconnectedness, he thought he had something of value to bring to the world based on his own experience. Being a consistent viewer of TEDx’s content to finally share his own words is a huge excitement for him and he hopes it connects with the viewers of his talk.

Star Poole is a School Board Director in Williamsport Pa. She has been on the board for The Heart of Williamsport for the past 3 years and a facilitator for North Central Pennsylvania's Alternatives to Violence project for the past 4 years. Star currently teaches networking classes for Wildflower Enterprises, and will be teaching a class for Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week at Lycoming College this summer. In addition, she recently joined The Outrun Coalition as a panelist where the goal is to give support to our young leaders looking to run for office.
