In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Hassan Sheheryar Yasin

Hassan Sheheryar Yasin often referred to as HSY, is a leading face of Pakistan’s Fashion Industry. Around 1994 he began his career in the fashion industry as a fashion choreographer and designer to various local and international shows. In 2000, Hassan Sheheryar Yasin launched his fashion label by the name HSY, which over a while became Pakistan’s top fashion label. Besides his exceptional work in the field of the fashion industry, HSY has been a Television Host and recently made his acting debut taking the screen by a storm! The award-winning fashion designer of Pakistan, Hassan Sheheryar Yasin will be speaking at TEDxSaddarRoad on 19th June 2021, make sure to get a seat while HSY takes you through his exciting journey.

Khola Mustafa

Educationist

Khola Mustufa is an educationist working in the field for over 40 years now. She is the Founder and Managing Director of Iqra Academy, one of the leading schools of our country. Being a front line social activist, she's been in the governing body of All Pakistan SOS Childrens' Village, while currently heading the KPK SOS Chapter. She has been an inspiration for her students, young entrepreneurs, and all those around her, through her charismatic personality.

Maria Aslam

Architect, Interior Designer

Maria Aslam is a prolific writer, architectural historian, environmental & social activist, working in the fields of interior design, architecture, and heritage conservation. She is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of ADA Magazine, the magazine is the lone champion, through which was pioneered the ADA Awards in 2018. Between her activism and publications, she runs her architectural and interior design practice, Arch Works. The studio is a Karachi-based creative + research practice whose work exists in the chaotic overlaps of architecture, urbanism, landscape, interiors and cultural geographies. She has served the Institute of Pakistan (IAP) as Chairperson Karachi Chapter 2009-2011 and is currently the Chairperson of Pakistan Institute of Interior Designers, (PIID). She is the author of; ‘Interiors of Pakistan Volume I’ published in 2016 and is working on two more publications.

Raza Syed

Raza Syed started his journey as an Information Technologist serving in public & private sector across Pakistan, implementing IT enabled services for almost 2 decades. He takes pride in being considered among the people who remain passionate about learning & exploring new avenues through diversification in life and the same spirit helped him steer and venture from hardcore technology to public policy and mass media. During this journey he got the opportunity to collaborate and work with international media giants like BBC Sky News & CNN while he remained associated with projects of UNDP and USAID.

Shahid Abdulla

Architect, Interior Designer

Shahid Abdullah is the principal and founding partner of Arshad Shahid Abdulla (Pvt.) Ltd. He oversees the Interior Design and Residence Departments at the firm. Shahid Abdullah received his bachelor’s in architecture degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago. In 1979 he formed Arshad Shahid Abdulla (Pvt.) Ltd. He is also a member of the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP) as well as the Institute of Architects Pakistan (IAP). He was also the founding chairman of the Pakistan Institute of Interior Designers, established in 2001 for the development of the profession. In 1990 he founded the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. In 2008, he helped found The Hunar Foundation (THF), a non-profit organization to find a solution to the problems of livelihood for the youth, by the provision of quality vocational training which is in demand both locally and abroad.
