In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Dr. Radhika Batra

Dr. Radhika Batra is a Pediatrician in New Delhi, India. She is the Founder and President of Every Infant Matters, a non-profit organization dedicated to the upliftment of disadvantaged children, worldwide. Its flagship programme is preventing blindness in children by improving nutrition and dispensing vitamin A. She is a Forbes Asia 30 under 30 honouree, a One Young World ambassador, a Trust Changemaker with the Thomson Reuters Foundation, WEDU Rising Star and Changemaker, and a Global Peace Index Ambassador for the Institute for Economics and Peace, Sydney. She is a prolific writer and has contributed commentaries to various internationally acclaimed platforms including Project Syndicate, HuffPost, Medium and The Times of India.

Dr. Shiv Visvanathan

Dr. Shiv Visvanathan is an Indian academic best known for his contributions to developing the field of science and technology, and for the concept called cognitive justice, a term that he coined. He is currently Professor at O P Jindal Global University, has taught at the Delhi School of Economics and has held visiting professorships at various universities abroad. He is author of Organizing for Science (OUP, Delhi, 1985), A Carnival for Science (OUP, Delhi, 1997) and has co-edited Foul play: Chronicles of Corruption (Banyan Books, Delhi, 1999). He has been consultant to the National Council of Churches and Business India. As a public intellectual his interests lie in many fields such as urban studies, the sociology of corruption, sociology and philosophy of science. He also contributes to popular magazines like Outlook, India Today, Governance Today and Tehelka. His popular writings touch topics as wide as science, cricket, anthropology, development and intellectual history.

Dr. Sujatha Ramdorai

She is an algebraic number theorist best known for her work on Iwasawa theory. She is a professor of mathematics at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She was previously a professor at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. Working with her husband Srinivasan Ramdorai and Indian mathematics writer V.S. Sastry, Sujatha Ramdorai conceived of and partially funded the Ramanujan Math Park in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, which was inaugurated at the end of 2017. The park is dedicated to mathematics education and honours the great Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. Ramdorai became the first Indian to win the prestigious ICTP Ramanujan Prize in 2006. She was also awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award, the highest honour in scientific fields by the Indian Government in 2004. She is also the recipient of the 2020 Krieger–Nelson Prize for her exceptional contributions to mathematics research.

Elonka Dunin

Elonka Dunin is an American video game developer, cryptologist, and management consultant. She is Chairperson Emerita and one of the founders of the International Game Developers Association's Online Games group. She is on the Board of Directors for the National Museum of Cryptology.

Gopi Prasannaa

Gopi is a rare jack-of-all-trades and master of them all. As creator, innovator, developer, artist, designer, and sculptor; he can whip up a print ad, develop a game, create an animated character, design a movie poster, redo your living room, or paint you a picture. CNN dubbed him a 21st Century Visionary when his brainchild, the iBangle, won Best Product of the Year 2008. Today, he is a prolific publicity designer; having designed posters for 75 films across Tamil Telegu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi cinema. Aware that a poster is the cracked-open window that lets you peek into a film, Gopi crafts the design to reflect the essence of the narrative. Posters of films like Aranya Kandam, OK Kanmani, Kathi, Superdeluxe, Mersal and Master are just a few examples of this ability, with the latest addition being the Hindi adaptation of The Intern, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone.

Kristina Makushenko

Kristina Makushenko is 4x world champion in artistic swimming. Makushenko is quite popular on Instagram and TikTok where her videos become a rage on the internet. She is trying to capture the audience with her videos and popularise the art of “Rhythmic Gymnastics Underwater”.

Ram Devineni

Ram Devineni is the creator of the interactive social-activist comic books, Priya’s Shakti, which features India’s first female superhero and honored by UN Women as a “gender equality champion.” At the height of the Covid19 pandemic, he released “Priya’s Mask” which the Washington Post wrote, “She is the Brown girl superhero the world needs right now.” He produced, edited and directed the feature documentary, The Karma Killings, which was shot in India and released on Netflix. Recently, he produced The Russian Woodpecker, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award.

Rashi Bijlani

Rashi Bijlani Tandon is the Founder and President of Asha Hai, which is one of its kind projects for inclusive education for children with extra needs. As an accomplished Bharatnatyam dancer, her experience in the field of movement fosters her belief that dance and movement enhance the smooth interaction of the mind and body. Rashi holds a double Masters degree in Dance Movement Psychotherapy and Clinical Psychology. Rashi conducts various workshops across schools, colleges, hospitals as well as Rehabilitation centers to familiarize people with the concept of Dance Movement Psychotherapy. She is the head consultant psychologist at the Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Science and Research at their Child Development Clinic. She is currently closely associated with Shri Edu-Care limited and works as a consultant psychologist with The Shri-Ram Early years. She is the Founding Board Member and General Secretary of the Indian Association of Dance Movement Therapy. Rashi’s current area of work focuses on her new endeavour with depths of child parent psychotherapy - The Dancing Bond; a unique parent child program which focuses on how Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP) interventions help to strengthen attachment and attunement, thereby helping the neurobiological development of the child.

Shomini Sen has 14 years of experience in the media industry. A film critic and journalist at WION at present, she has worked in CNN News18, Zee News and the Times Group in the past. Shomini has written on entertainment and lifestyle for the most part of her career. While writing on cinema remains her first love, her other interest lies in topics like gender, society and Indian literature.

Shonali Sabherwal

Shonaali Sabherwal is India’s ‘first’ Nutritionist, Chef and Instructor in Macrobiotics graduate of the Kushi Institute, USA; where she qualified and certified over 4 years on the study of foods that heal, put into remission and manage health ailments. The Kushi Institute taught Macrobiotics in the same vein, as what is being termed as ‘Functional Medicine’ or ‘Integrative medicine’ today. She is the Author of 3 books published with Penguin Random House: The Beauty Diet, The Detox Diet and The Love Diet. She has a podcast on Amazon Audible called ‘Soulfood Conversations.’ She has successfully married the best of Macrobiotics and Ayurveda, and uses the Oriental facial/meridian diagnosis framework to provide solutions for her clients. She works with the psychology of the disease, the foods and that of her clients to help them achieve their goals.

Shruti Kotwal

Shruti Kotwal is India’s first professional ice speed skater. When she was seven years old she began roller-skating and held national gold medals in the sport before changing to ice-skating. At the South Asia Championship in 2011 she secured gold medals in the categories of 500m, 1000m and 1500m. She holds 5 gold medals from the Indian National Ice-Skating Championships and a bronze medal from the National Winter Games. The following year, 2012, she received a scholarship from the International Skating Union, which enabled her to travel to Germany for speed skating training under Canadian skater Jeremy Wotherspoon. In 2014 she broke the national record she had previously set herself in the 500-metre speed skating event. In 2017 she represented India at the Asian Winter Games.

Sumanta Baruah

Sumanta Baruah is a cartoonist from India. His cartoons have been published in Current Science, Science Reporter, Resonance, Vigyan Jeuti, Drishti, Satsori, Journal of Assam Science Society, Prantik, Gonit Sora, Enajori and xahitya.org. His cartoons have been exhibited in two International Cartoon Festivals: 3rd Rhodes International Cartoon Exhibition, Greece (2006) and International Cartoon Festival, Iran (2006).

Vishal Malhotra

Vishal Malhotra is an Indian film and television actor and a popular TV show host. His first appearance on screen was as a host on the Disney Hour, which aired on Zee TV in 1995. Having been a part of the entertainment industry for over a decade now, he has starred in TV shows such as Hip Hip Hurray, Shararat, Vicky & Vetaal, and Dhoom Machaao Dhoom to name a few. He made his debut in the film industry by playing Mambo in Ishq Vishk, and later went on to star in Kaal, Salaam-E-Ishq, Jannat, Kismat Konnection and many more. This year, he is back with the Disney Channel, hosting the second season of Imagine That.
