In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Doug Greenig

Hedgefund CEO and microbiology expert Doug Greenig addresses TEDxWarwick to enlighten listeners on five key lessons that we can learn from the COVID-19 pandemic. Using science as a basis for these lessons, he explores various global responses to the pandemic and explains how those who got it right managed to do so.

In his work, he has played an integral role in ensuring peace in Colombia over the last decade by demobilising guerrilla fighters. Further to this, he played a key role as his agency won Agency of The Year at the Campaigns for Good Awards 2019.

Furman Professor of Law and Leadership at Harvard Law School, a prominent author and an influential TED speaker.

Michelle is the Travel Editor of Vanity Fair and Contributing Editor of Conde Nast Travel. In 2016 she was awarded with the Travel Writer of the Year and Consumer Magazine Feature of the Year award. Author of the novel, Song, released in 2018.

Sarah Gardner

Sarah Gardner is the Vice President of External Affairs at Thorn, a US-based non-profit that builds technology to defend children from sexual abuse. She helped lead Thorn's efforts to win the TED Audacious Prize in April 2019, creating a plan to eliminate child sexual abuse from the internet. Sarah helped Thorn grow from a small tech start-up to a multi-million dollar non-profit dedicated to ending child exploitation online.

Temple Grandin

After a lifetime of activism and scientific research, Dr. Temple Grandin joins TEDxWarwick to explore why the world needs all the different kinds of minds. As a world-leading Autism spokesperson, Temple discusses how people with Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia have played a pivotal role in many of the world's greatest achievements. She then outlines how we need to adapt the education system in order to help get the best out of every child.

Thomas-Xavier Métro
