Andrea Byrne

Television Presenter
ITV Presenter Andrea Byrne is one of the faces of ITV News. She anchors the BAFTA award winning daily news programme Wales at Six as well as ITV’s national bulletins. This has included ITV Weekend News, Lunchtime News, Evening News & News at Ten. She also presents a current affairs programme Wales This Week, and writes a regular column on motherhood for Cardiff Life Magazine. She is an Ambassador for “Women in Wales” and “The Duke of Award Scheme” and a Trustee for the organ donation Edinburgh charity. Andrea is married to Wales and Lions legend Lee Byrne. Recently, they spoke publicly about their long fertility journey to have their daughter, Jemima. She is passionate about wellbeing and pioneered the introduction of Mental Health First Aiders in ITV’s newsrooms

He works internationally and from his home city of St Davids Wales, UK, balancing desk time with surfing, sea kayaking, and land work. He is an experienced Non-Exec Director, facilitator, speaker, and advisor to business and government, enabling leaders to deliver transformational innovation to help solve carbon, biodiversity, resource, and wellbeing challenges. He is Chief Executive at Slipstream Impact, a Founding Partner of the Do Lectures, Partner at NOW Partners, mentor with the Unreasonable Group, B Corp Ambassador and Trustee at the One Planet Centre and Earth Protector Communities. He is a member of the Innovation Advisory Council for Wales. With North Star Transition he is shaping projects to develop nature and activity-based solutions to wellbeing at country-scale and to ensure that every child leaves school fully prepared to wrestle with and ease complex challenges on climate and nature.

Currently lecturing, mentoring, researching in content verification technologies & leading the Media Suite Innovation Lab. at Swansea University. Donating his time contributing to regional engagement projects & leading not-for-profit community initiatives by promoting media literacy & the use of ethical technologies for the fight against inequality & online disinformation. Received 17 international awards from various Film Festivals for his documentary films.

Ify Iwobi

Musician, composer,songwriter
Ify Iwobi is a multi-award winning Swansea born artist with Nigerian heritage. She is a classical/contemporary pianist and composer. She studied Music Performance at Brunel University in London. Ify has performed around Wales for example Wales Millennium Centre, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, at the Senedd Parliament, National Waterfront Museum Swansea, St Fagan’s Museum and National Museums of Wales Cardiff. She has also performed nationally and internationally in London, French Alps, America and Nigeria. Ify performs for many charities to help raise funds such as Stepping Stones, Barnados, educating 10 young people in Nigeria, performing in support fundraising for the education of 10 young people in Nigeria, Onani Charity for sightless children in Malawi etc. Iffy composes her own original works and plays a wide variety of genres and composes Classical, Pop, Jazz, Indie, Rock, R’n’B etc. She works with Session Musicians from Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Jan Iverson

Jan Iverson is currently an augmented and virtual reality consultant and multimedia storyteller. Jan is the recipient of the 2019 Vanguard Award in New York for outstanding performance and excellence in nontraditional careers from the Nontraditional Employment & Training (NET) Program and the Center for Women in Government. Jan’s diverse media background includes broadcast, print and digital, and her expertise has been gained through working with some of the best in the Entertainment and Luxury markets, including Nickelodeon, Viacom, NOVA, Van Cleef and Arpels, Harry Winston, and LVMH (Moët Hennessey Louis Vuitton SE). Jan’s work is also in the pharmaceutical, medical and gemological industries, where she pioneered new media platforms in the digital space, and published award-winning peer-reviewed scientific journals; and has led teams in North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Mali Hire

2nd Year Student Cardiff University
Mali Hire is a 19-year-old harpist based in Cardiff. As a second-year music student at Cardiff University, Mali specialises in the harp under the tuition of Valerie Aldrich Smith, Principal Harpist of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Originally from Ammanford, Mali has been playing the harp since the age of 12, performing in various weddings, dinners and charity galas. Pre-pandemic, Mali had the opportunity to play within the Welsh Harp Ensemble, preparing a programme for the World Harp Congress which has been postponed to 2022. Mali is looking forward to returning to her third year of study in the Autumn and is grateful to have been considered to play for today’s event.

Professor Matt Jones

Professor of Computer Science, Computational Foundry
Matt Jones is the author of two books and many research articles that have helped shape the field of Mobile HCI and UX (Mobile Interaction Design - with Gary Marsden; and There's Not an App for That - with Simon Robinson and Gary Marsden). He has spoken at events with both an arts focus (such as the Hay Book Festival 2017) and the sciences (such as this the British Science Festival 2016 and Interact 2017). He has worked both with academic research groups and industrial partners across the world. His work combines a passion for invention with a commitment to working alongside non-traditional users of mobile technology. He was a Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award Holder; was awarded an IBM Faculty Award; and leads three major UK programmes focussed on human values and computational science (the Research Council UK funded Digital Economy CHERISH Centre; the Welsh Government/ EU funded Computational Foundry; and an EPSRC Doctoral Training Centre on AI and big Data.
