In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Anna Hands

Dr Anna Hands is the director of the non-profit community organisation PPL PWR, which promotes sustainability and sustainable innovation through public engagement. She recently completed her PhD in Neuroscience at UCL and works as a Public Officer at the Academy of Medical Sciences, bringing together stakeholders from the public, private and governmental sectors to discuss societal health challenges.

Annie Xu

Annie is a Year 11 student pursuing her GCSEs who is fond of history and all types of humanities, loves reading and skateboarding- although isn't quite proficient in the latter.

Cassidy Johnson

Csssidy is a Professor of Urbanism and Disaster Risk Reduction at UCL's Bartlett Development Planning Unit, who is committed to improving the quality of life and livelihoods of low-income groups living in urban areas in the Global South.

Charlie Dart

Charlie is a competitive rifle shooter for Team GB and an undergraduate student at UCL studying Spanish and Management Science.

Frances Moffat

Frances Moffat is a freelance illustrator, writer and educator. She has worked on a range of commissions for clients across editorial, publishing, fashion, product and live event illustration. Frances is also the author/illustrator of Fashion Exercise Book, Pick up a Pen and Fashion Doodling and Colouring for Pavilion, and writes about illustration and creativity for various publications including the Writers and Artists Yearbook. As an educator, she has many years of experience lecturing in illustration and fashion at degree level at a number of UK universities.

Hanan is pursuing her MA in Comparative Education, and is interested in research and education.

Jeremy Yao

Jeremy Yao is the co-founder of Changing Room, which empowers people towards more sustainable decisions and solutions- where consumers can find the environmental ratings of their favourite brand’s fashion products and receive eco-responsible product suggestions. He is eager to advance the fashion industry towards more sustainable social and environmental practices.

Rob Stephenson

Rob Stephenson is a father, a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, a DJ, a cyclist and a social entrepreneur. He is also bipolar and passionate about inspiring the creation of mentally healthy workplaces and societies. Rob is the founder of the InsideOut Leaderboard and CEO of FormScore.

Sricharan Sanakkayala

Sricharan made the rare decision to move from the US to the UK to study Computer Science. Why would he do that? The answer lies in a very simple framework of thought he created, called the “Kings Gambit”- which you can apply to your own problems in your journey to self-defined success, and will be explained in his talk
