In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Akintunde Oyebode

Akintunde Oyebode is an Economist, passionate about sustainable development, finance, investment and youth employment. He began his career as a Research Assistant at the Lagos Business School, and spent over a decade in various banking roles with First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and Stanbic IBTC Bank where he was the Country Head of SME Banking. He was also the pioneer Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) where he led the development of programmes that provided loans of over N6 billion to 10,000 beneficiaries, employability training for 5,000 unemployed Lagosians with job placement to almost 2,000 people, and workspace vouchers for 100 startups. During his time at LSETF, the institution supported the creation of 100,000 jobs in 3 years, leading to a verifiable reduction in Lagos State’s unemployment rate, despite an overall increase in unemployment across Nigeria. In March 2020, Akin voluntarily left his role at LSETF, and was subsequently appointed as Special Adviser to the Governor of Ekiti on Investment, Trade and Innovations; and Director-General of the Ekiti State Development and Investment Promotion Agency. In this role, he was responsible for Ekiti State’s investment promotion activities and business environment reforms. He led the attraction of investment announcements of over $2 billion in less than two years. Akin is currently serving as the Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development of the Ekiti State Government. (2022)

JayTee Ojo

JayTee Ojo is an award winning Agro-preneur, Software Engineer and Philanthropist. He, with his wife, Simi, are co-Presidents of the JayTee Ojo Foundation, which offers practical solutions aimed at making the young person globally competitive and to help our communities achieve self sustenance. The JayTee Ojo Foundation runs extra-curriculum ICT Clubs in local schools in Ekiti. They have provided solar street lights and boreholes to communities, donated books to schools, as well as Food Banks for the elderly, among other projects. JayTee Ojo is CEO of Alluvium, one of Nigeria’s fastest growing start ups with root in Ekiti.

Jimlas Ogunsakin

Born on 3rd April, 1977 in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, Ogunsakin is a medical Doctor, health systems specialist, development expert and an entrepreneur with technical expertise in policy development, institutional strengthening, health financing, project/program management, economic evaluation and grant management. Ogunsakin who is presently the Senior Special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, on Public Health, has considerable experience of working in multi-agency environments with deep network across various national and international institutions and developmental agencies. He has engaged some of the world’s leading consultancy firms such Accenture, McKenzie, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC); United Nations Organizations such as UNICEF, UNOPS, UNDP; and International NGO’s such as Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, ABT Associates Intl and Resource for Development (R4D). A graduate of Medicine and Surgery, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Ogunsakin has a Masters in Business Administration (Healthcare Management) from the Robert Kennedy College, University of Wales, UK. He is a fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH), a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (MACHE), a member of the American institute of health and productivity management (IHPM), and the Project Management Institute (PMI). He is the Founder/President of Global Network of Emerging Leaders in Nation Building (GLEAN), Managing Partner at South Atlantic Health Systems Ltd, and a board member, Nippon Oil and Energy Ltd. He is a leadership coach, public speaker, trainer and a facilitator per excellence

Louis Adekola

Prince Louis Omolayo Adekola is a dynamic leader with vast experience in international education consultancy, higher education research, and policy advocacy. He is the CEO of Edvant Edge Africa, an educational advancement firm that helps institutions in Africa to generate & implement innovative ideas for their development. He was a CASE Scholar at the 2016 Educational Advancement in Africa Conference, Kenya; Delegate to the 2017 World Innovation Summit for Education, Qatar; Panelist at the World Merit Councils Summit, Morocco; Participant at the 2018 WISE Forum, Ghana. He was listed as one of the 100 Most Influential Young Africans in 2018 and in 2019, he received the World Youth Forum Award in Egypt. Louis won the prestigious Chevening Scholarship and studied International Education and Development at the University of Sussex, UK where he graduated with Distinction.

Odunola Olabintan

Olabintan Odunola is a social entrepreneur whose work focuses on Preventive Health, She is a Tedx Speaker with years of experience in Advocacy, Health Media and Communication. Odunola is the Team Lead of The Health City, a tech-enabled social enterprise whose work focuses on preventive health services and education. Through their website thehealthcityonline.com, they provide health education and services for Adolescents and Young People in order to reduce the incidence and prevalence of chronic non communicable and infectious disease via our website. The Health City also provides First Aid services to promote health, prevent complications from emergencies via Panacea First Aid Services. She is currently the coordinator of Gender Based Violence prevention initiative at Adolescent Friendly Research Initiative and Care (ADOLFRIC), an NGO that focuses on Adolescent Health. A proud Feminist, Odunola is a fellow of the Margaret Ekpo Youth Fellowship, She has previously volunteered for over two years with the UNICEF/UNFPA joint team on their campaign to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and she has also volunteered with UNFPA as a youth social media advocate for six months on their campaign to increase access of Adolescents to sexual and reproductive health rights A final year medical student of Ekiti state university, Odunola is the former vice president of the Ekiti State University Medical Students' Association Odunola is an alumni of the Leap Africa Youth Leadership Program (YLP), two time winner(2016 & 2017) of the most hardworking student award presented to her by the Ekiti State University Campus Awards( ESUCA) and she is also a two time recipient of Best use of Twitter for healthcare award presented to her by One Ekiti in 2019 & 2020. She was listed as one of the 30 most influential young people in Ekiti State, 2020 by Mission Trybe, she was again listed as one of the 15 most influential young peoples in Ekiti State in 2021 by Mission Trybe. Odunola is a recipient of the first ever Ekiti Youth Outstanding Award “Omoluabi Awards” - Healthcare services category, presented by the Ekiti State Government in 2021 and she is a 2022 nominee of The Future Awards Africa for the prize for Health and Wellness. Odunola is vested in Advocacy, Media and Health Tech, particularly the application of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare. Odunola is a multifaceted solution and result driven social entrepreneur, Her biggest dream is to "leave the world better than she met it".

Uche Agbo

UCHE AGBO is a filmmaker, Screenwriter, Producer, Television and Film Director, Author, and Talent Coach. He is the founder of Coal City Film Festival, Founder and President of Abuja Film Academy, Enugu Film Academy and Okike Media College. Uche is the Founder and Executive Director of Okike Media, a Production Company based in Lagos with multiple films and series to its credit.
