Gan-Ulzii Gonchig was born in 1972 in Khatanbulag soum, Dornogobi province. He has a degree in Law. Since 2010, he has been taking photography. He has been taking amazing shots of Mongolian beautiful landscape and unique nomadic culture. He has displayed his work online as well as in number of exhibitions to promote Mongolia to the world. Between 2017 to 2020, he has worked as the official photographer of the Prime Minister of Mongolia. He is a active traveller and has his own Youtube page, Nomadic Overland, where he shows the beautiful travel destinations in Mongolia. It is part of his larger project Land of Blue Sky, photography and vlog through Mongolia, which has been implementing since 2011. In 2020, he started to work as the general coordinator for the “Mur Project” which is to protect and promote wildlife in Mongolia. He is one of the founding members of the Mongolian Landscape Photographers’ Society and is one of the Board of Directors of the society.

Julie Veloo

Born the youngest of 6 children and raised in a small town in Northern B.C. Canada, Julie never expected she would end up in Mongolia, feeding, caring for and educating hundreds of Mongolian children in need at her two Narnii Huuhduud kindergartens. She and her husband, Chelvan, a Mining Engineer and the President of Veloo Foundation, have lived and worked in Indonesia, Australia, and The United States before settling in Mongolia. During her 10 years here, Julie has taken up horseback riding and now, every year, with Saraa and Baagii of Horse Trek Mongolia hosts and rides the longest annual charity ride on the planet – The Gobi Gallop – along with a suite of other charity rides across Mongolia. In 2022 she will ride the record-breaking 3,600 km / 84 day Blue Wolf Totem Expedition to raise funds for her project. Since first riding here at the age of 50 Julie has logged in excess of 35,000 km on horseback across the wilds of Mongolia. Julie is passionate about Mongolia and all things Mongolian and is committed to sustainable and fiscally transparent philanthropy She is thrilled to be able to incorporate her love of Mongolian culture and history into Veloo Foundation’s Soaring Crane Summer Camp out in the countryside of Sonjin Boldog. The camp is a traditional Mongolian-themed camp experience in English and Mongolian alike and offers 3 paying camps a year in English to fund the remaining camps for 250 Mongolian children in need. In addition to the two Narnii Huuhduud Kindergartens and the Soaring Crane Summer Camp, Veloo Foundation also operates the Fran London Centre for the Fabric Arts, (Tuskhan Brand), The Gandys Kids Campus Community Library and a number of other educational, employment and community outreach programs in the Songino Khairkhan District of Ulaanbaatar. KHONGORZUL Batchuluun is lecturer and researcher at the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences since 2011. Also COO /Chief Operating Officer/ and co-founder at the “HFS” Stem Cell Clinic. She completed her PhD at Jichi Medical University; Japan with the theme of “Maintenance of Stem cells in adult tissue”, and currently working on many projects to develop and bring the stem cell science into new level in Mongolian land. She has published quite a few articles in highly valued journals in her field. For her talent and accomplishment, she became one of the chosen young, bright scientists to attend the 68th Lindau Noble Laureate Meeting in Germany. In general she got the golden ticket to meet the brightest people on earth, the Nobel Laureates in field of Physiology or Medicine and Chemistry. She is a climate activist, child rights defender, the young leader of world vision Mongolia and an international member of the child’s advisory team. She is the one in charge of Fridays for future movement in Mongolia which is a climate movement and climate is what she’s the most passionate about. In 2019 she opened the HLPF (High-Level Political Forum) with her speech about how climate change is affecting Mongolia. During her time there she attended as many side events as she can to let her voice be heard by different kinds of officials. This was the beginning of her international climate Act. After coming she joined the child rights connects child advisory team. In which she officially became a child rights defender. For now, she’s been attending international and national events and being a bridge between those who can’t speak for themselves and those who need to hear them.
