In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Angela Findlay

Angela Findlay is a professional artist, writer and freelance lecturer with a long career of teaching art in prisons. Her time ‘behind bars’ and later as Arts Coordinator to the London-based Koestler Trust, gave her many insights into the huge potential the arts have to bring about change on personal as well as societal levels. In the past decade, Angela has been researching her Anglo-German roots and Germany’s little-known process of coming to terms with its Nazi past. This has led her into dark and uncomfortable places. But it also highlighted the intensely healing nature of talking about difficult histories and introduced her to fascinating and revealing art forms of national remembrance. Angela has a BA(Hons) in Fine Art, a Diploma in Artistic Therapy (specialising in colour) and her paintings have been widely exhibited both nationally and internationally. Her first book will be published by Penguin Transworld in early 2022.
