The Butterfly Effect is the idea that small things can have non-linear impacts on a complex system. The concept is imagined with a butterfly flapping its wings and causing a hurricane. The Butterfly Effect will be examined from the different persectives from this years speakers: the scientific perspective - the business persepective - the personal perspective

Carl-Philipp von Polheim

Carl-Philipp is the founder of Mybacs, with degrees from EBS Business School and ESCP Europe.

Lena Partzsch

Prof. Dr. Lena Partzsch started as Chair of Environmental Governance in April 2021. Before, she was interim Chair of Development Politics at the University of Passau (winter 2020-21) and Chair of Comparative Government at the University of Erfurt (winter 2019-20, and summer 2020). Since 2018, she was an Extraoridinary Professor at the University of Freiburg. The University of Muenster awarded her the Habilitation (postdoctoral qualification) in 2014 and she received her PhD from Freie Universitaet Berlin in 2007. Her research deals with sustainability transitions in the Global North and South. Her work has been published in leading scientific journals. She received the GAIA Best Paper Award in 2016, and the journal of Global Governance chose her article “Take action now: The legitimacy of celebrity power in international relations” as the best paper of the year in 2018. Partzsch’s most recent book is “Alternatives to Multilateralism: New Forms of Social and Environmental Governance” (Cambridge, MA: MIT Press 2020).

Mark T. Hoffmann

Mark T. Hofmann is a Crime- & Intelligence Analyst (“Profiler”), trained and certified in the United States of America. Rolf Schrömgens

In 2005, he started his second company trivago.com, which became, within a decade, the most successful hotel search and one of the largest global consumer brands. He brought trivago public at Nasdaq in 2016 and moved last year from his CEO role into a board position. End of 2020 he founded leadership.sprouts a movement to unlock human potential by sprouting sustainable leadership.

Tobias Renk

Dr. Tobias Renk is an experienced IT professional and a well-known expert on the topics of digital transformation, cultural change and innovation. He has published numerous articles and books and is a welcome keynote speaker at various events. He has been elected one of the TOP100 Excellence Trainers by Speakers Excellence in 2021.
