In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Esther Ruth Kentish

Esther Ruth Kentish, is an award-winning researcher, author, and internationally-recognized book publisher. At age 21, she published her first book, The Emotional Healing Behind WORDS. She is a Houston native, with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy from The University of Texas at Arlington, a MS in Technical Communication from North Carolina State University, and currently a postgraduate in Medical Humanities at King's College London in the United Kingdom. Esther started writing poetry at age 6, partnered with the Greater Houston area Poetry Slam Team, Meta-Four Houston. She published in the World Poetry Movement, Stars in Our Hearts anthology at only 16. She has participated in various national and international poetry slam competitions and presented her research at Oxford University. Further, Esther believes her life purpose is to create social change and bring awareness to spiritual, political, and international issues by helping others produce stories about the things they see around them.

Jamilla Chakar

Jamilla is a nursing student with a special interest in global health. From her nursing and travel experiences she has witnessed a growing concern for the health of communities disrupted by the voluntourism industry. Through campaigning, she has discussed approaches that are more effective and sustainable whilst advocating for people most in need.

Sandra Igwe

Sandra Igwe LLB MBA, is a British Social Entrepreneur, Knowledge Exchange Professional and Mother of Two. She is passionate about creating platforms, programs and tools for mothers to excel and thrive. She has worked diligently to bridge the gap between maternal health services and BAME community groups, allowing their voices to be heard.
