In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Daniela Dvořáková

Daniela Dvořáková je historička. Pracuje v Historickom ústave Slovenskej akadémie vied. Jej parketou je neskorý stredovek, obdobie panovania Žigmunda Luxemburského, problematika šľachty, dvorskej kultúry a života vtedajších žien. Vedie Vydavateľstvo Rak, je autorkou desiatich historických kníh. Daniela Dvořáková is a historian employed at the Institute of History of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. Her scope is late Middle Ages, the reign of Sigismund of Luxembourg, issues of aristocracy, court culture and life of contemporary women. Daniela runs Rak Publishing House, is the author of ten historical books.

Ľubica Čekovská

Ľubica Čekovská je skladateľka a klaviristka. Po ukončení bratislavskej VŠMU študovala kompozíciu na Royal Academy of Music v Londýne a absolvovala kompozičné kurzy u viacerých svetoznámych skladateľov. Komponuje opernú, symfonickú, filmovú a príležitostne aj popovú hudbu. Ako skladateľka sa profesionálne pohybuje vo sfére, ktorá je ešte stále skôr dominantou mužov. Svojou tvorbou si vydobyla uznanie doma aj v zahraničí. Ľubica Čekovská is a composer and pianist. After graduating from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava she continued her education at the Royal Academy of Music in London and trained in composition with world-renowned composers. She focuses on opera, symphonic and film music, and occasionally pop music. As a female composer in a still male-dominated field, she has gained recognition by her creative work at home and internationally.

Ľubica El Malaheg

Ľubica El Malaheg je zdravotnou sestrou. V 90-tych rokoch vycestovala so skupinou československých zdravotníkov do Líbye. Prežila tam 30 rokov. Zažíla profesijné naplnenie, šťastné manželstvo, ale aj márny boj o život chorého manžela a búrlivú Arabskú jar. V súčasnosti pracuje na Malte ako vedúca zdravotnej starostlivosti pre Líbyjčanov, ktorí potrebujú liečbu v zahraničí. Ľubica El Malaheg is a nurse. In the 1990s, she has left with a group of Czechoslovak medics for Libya. Eventually Lubica has spent there 30 years, experienced professional fulfillment, a happy marriage, but also a futile struggle for the life of her sick husband and turbulent Arab Spring. She currently works in Malta as a healthcare manager for Libyans seeking treatment abroad.

Mária Víteková

Mária je vedúcou poradkýň Národnej linky pre ženy zažívajúce násilie. Usiluje sa o to, aby boli ľudia všímavejší k tomu, čo sa deje v ich okolí a za dverami iných domácností. Mária is the leading adviser for The National Hotline for Women Survivors of Violence. She strives to make people more aware of what is happening around them and behind the doors of other households.
