In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Amita Bhide

Dr. Amita Bhide is the Dean and Professor in the School of Habitat Studies She has been deeply involved in studying issues related to urban poor communities, community organization and housing rights movements and advocacy groups. Professor Bhide’s recent work at the School of Habitat Studies has been on issues of urban development , in particular those concerning urban transformations and their link to inclusive and sustainable development. She has extensively researched urban local governance and planning, water and sanitation, housing and land issues. She attempts to develop a theoretical and action model of urbanisation that is relevant for the global south through an engagement with several transformative groups at the city, provincial and national scales.

Ayushi Chand

A professional economist, a bibliophile, and a passionate traveler by nature, Miss Ayushi Chand is an Indian Economic Service Officer, currently working with the Government of India. An alumna of the esteemed Shri Ram College of Commerce and Jawaharlal Nehru University, Miss Ayushi Chand’s zeal for serving the nation was such that she let go of not only a full-time scholarship from NTU Singapore for undergrad but also another lucrative master's degree in International Development Economics from Yale University. Her experience includes working as a public policy consultant for the Andhra Pradesh government and an internship with the Planning Commission of India. Her work spans multiple domains, including public policy consultancy, economic analysis, and strategy consulting.

Chris Parsons

Chris Parsons is the Partner of the global law firm, Herbert Smith Freehills and Chairman of the India practice of the firm. He was included in the Financial Times Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyer awards for his work in India including his lectures at a number of Indian Law Schools which involves an annual programme with Oxford University. Apart from helping guide his firm's social initiatives in India, Mr. Parsons is an acclaimed mental health champion. He is a board member of the leading mental health research charity, MQ Mental Health Research.

Suraj Yengde
