The Sustainability Mafia is curating a full-day TEDx event in support of the Countdown initiative : a global effort to champion and accelerate solutions to the climate crisis, turning ideas into action!

The goal: To build a better future by cutting greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 in the race to a zero-carbon world – a world that is safer, cleaner and fairer for everyone. The ongoing health and economic crises are reminding us of an important fact: We’re all part of the same fragile system, dependent on nature and one another. As we look to the future, we must build back better and emerge more sustainable and resilient than before. We can change climate change – #JoinTheCountdown to a safer, cleaner, fairer future.

Amishi Parasrampuria

Amishi is the Founder of Upcycler’s Lab, a company that creates play based learning tools to teach better consumption to children. Her vision is to change mindset and behaviour around the environment. Upcycler’s Lab was selected as one of 10 startups supported by the DST (Govt. of India), DFID (Govt. of UK), Shell Foundation and Zone Startups as a part of their accelerator program – Powered. Upcycler's Lab was also selected for the Climate Launchpad program - the world's largest climate accelerator program. Besides this, Amishi has also founded The Upcycle Co, one of India’s first companies creating valuable products from waste using upcycling as well as Startup Genie, a digital media agency creating solutions for startups. Prior to her entrepreneurial journey, Amishi helped grow several startups in different sectors such as corporate training, dance and tourism. She has represented India at a global level as a professional Dancesport athlete. Educated in financial markets and international business, Amishi is an alumnus of HR college and the University of Bath.

Anirudh Gupta

Anirudh is a social entrepreneur, building a consortium of sustainability leaders to address our Planet's looming ecological crisis. He previously worked in the aerospace industry with Airbus Defence & Space. His current decade-long mission is to be a social innovator, industrial designer and storyteller; by living at the intersection of art & science, poetry & philosophy. His goals are to: 1) make sustainable living society's default choice, and 2) to spark people's minds with compelling stories. Anusha Sheth

Anusha Sheth is a Research fellow at Univ.AI. She is currently working at the intersection of climate change and artificial intelligence, specifically in the domain of clean energy.

Chandrashekar Bhat

As Founder and CEO of Trashin, Chandrashekar is focused on reducing the risk of human catastrophe due to resource depletion and climate change by ‘Reinventing Recycling and Sustainable Consumption’. He previously interned in Olam International’s Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability division formulating a strategy wherein Olam could partner with mining companies in South East Asia to improve the livelihoods of farmers in the region. CB, as he is known amongst his peers, has featured on Horses Stable, a YouTube reality show for entrepreneurs on the lines of Shark Tank. He holds a B.Tech in Mining Engineering from NIT Karnataka Surathkal, a premier technological institute in India and is also the proud recipient of the ‘Principals Excellence Award’ from his alma mater. Chandrashekar’s interests include, but are not limited to; Lean Startup Methodology/ Product Development/ Growth-Hacking/ Strategy/ b2b Partnerships/ IoT/ Big Data and Blockchain amongst others.

Jai Asundi

Jai Asundi is the Executive Director at the Center for Study of Science, Technology and Policy(CSTEP), Bangalore, India. He has been involved in research and policy projects in multiple areas and his current focus is on organisational development. His initial work was in the area of emergency and disaster management. He mentored teams across multiple areas spanning sanitation, urban development, energy and climate. He spearheaded the creation of the Centre for Air Pollution Studies(CAPS) at CSTEP. His broader research interests lie in decision-making and the development of decisions support systems for a number of public policy problems. Jai holds a BTech from IIT Bombay and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Carnegie Mellon University. His career spans Infosys Technologies, the Software Engineering Institute, Pittsburgh and the School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas. He is a senior member of the IEEE and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University.

Madhusudhan Anand

Madhusudhan (aka. Maddy) is a Co-Founder, Data Scientist & Chief Technology Officer at Ambee (www.getambee.com). Madhusudan is an alumnus of International Institute of Information Technology, Bengaluru. He has previously worked for Dell, Avaya, and HP. He also previously co-founded Adom Technologies.

Ranjita Ravi is one of the Co-Founders at Orxa Energies. She is an MBA from ESSEC Business School, Paris, and has worked in many different job profiles, across projects in 20+ different countries, before coming back to India and building Orxa.
