Theme: The Mask

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Buse Sinem İren

She is an actor, stand-up comedian, and art historian. She takes part in the Turkish adaptation of the French production 'Call My Agent' series, 'Menajerimi Ara', published on Netflix. Her stand-up adventure, which started with BKM Açık Mikrofon, continues by touring Turkey and Europe with her one-man show. She presents the ability to analyze human behavior and environments in a fun way in her standups. She is also one of the founders of Çok da Fifi Hatunlar Stand Up. She received her undergraduate education from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Art History. With her certificates of expertise in various fields, her compositions, and her experiences in many parts of the world, shee meets her audience on stage and on the screen. Buse, who has loved to express her feelings through art since her childhood, continues singing and composing, playing the guitar and drums. She also paints without breaking away from art history which she received her education.

Çağrı Büke

Prof.Dr.Ahmet Çağrı Büke,who was born in 1964, graduated from Ege University,Faculty of Medicine.He specialized in Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology. Currently, he is still actively working as a doctor at Acıbadem Taksim Hospital.He has a total of 65 articles, 396 citations and 68 papers published in national and international peer-reviewed journals.There are 6 books he edited, 15 books that he wrote as chapter author and 19 books he translated.He also participated in many national and international congresses and meetings and gave speeches in many fields.

Cem Leon Menase

Cem Leon Menase leads impact measurement and management practices at international organizations, funds, companies and NGOs. Cem also works as a coordinator at the Begninning Node, where he mobilizes potential change makers to build a network and make social impact in different sectors. He is working as Advisor to Faruk Eczacıbaşı, Vice Chairman of Eczacıbaşı Holding. Cem completed his BS in Economics at ITU and MA in Management at Harvard. Cem completed two different impact investing programs; one at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School in 2019, and another at University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business in 2021.

Emre Erdal

Emre Erdal completed his bachelor's degree on International Relations in Istanbul University, faculty of Political Sciences. He continued his education in Poland, then, he completed his master's degree in School of Business Administration (MBA) at Bahçeşehir University. While he was continuing to his professional work life in the field of Customer Management, the birth of his daughter Elif, which he refers as a miracle, became the breaking point of his life. The awareness raising project he started for his daughter who was born with Treacher Collins Sendrome, an anomaly which affects bone and tissue development in face area, gave hope to so many people. He established the first and only association in this area in our country “Yüzümle Mutluyum” @yuzumlemutluyum (I am Happy with My Face). He made a major contribution in creating international networks. He wrote out the book called “Mucizenin Adı Elif (Miracle: Elif)”. Currently Emre Erdal is a columnist in “Kıyı’da (Onshore)” magazine, he is writing his column called “Farkındalığın Kıyısında (On the Edge of Awareness)”

Fırat Parlak

Fırat Doğu Parlak was born in Adana in 1975. He went to primary school in Adana, then he went to Çorlu for middle and high school. He met with Erkin Koray when he was a middle schooler and he worked together with him for 15 years. He dropped out of his collage studies and started his broadcasting journey by founding more than 15 radio broadcasting studios and television channels. He was a director, scriptwriter and producer for over 30 programmes. He started working in the legendary TV series project named as Komedi Dükkanı (Comedy Store) in 2007 with Tolga Çevik and took part as an actor, director and producer. He founded 25Film with his co-partner Koray Şahin and the company achieved a phenomenal success with lots of cinema, advertisement and television projects. Fırat Parlak, who won lots of prizes as a scenarist, director and producer is married and the father of two children.

Mehmet Dursun İnce

“It is 5 o’clock in the morning, The first beams of sunlight appear in the sky, You drink your 15th cup of coffee. You’ve been working on the computer for 30 hours straight, And you find a critical attack method, then you press the enter button, It works… You say you can go to sleep now.” Telling his life story through the description above, Mehmet İnce states that his obsession with computers since his childhood made him get acquainted with cybersecurity at a young age. In 2012, when he was a college student, he moved to Istanbul and established Prodaft Company with his friends there. Having a worldwide reputation for his works about 0 Day Vulnerabilities that no one knew back then, Mehmet İnce continues his business life as the co-founder of Prodaft.

Meral Aydın

Meral Aydın is the head of Institute of Masterson Turkey. As a faculty member of International Institute of Masterson New York, she teaches psychoanalytic psychotherapy of Masterson approach personality disorders and supervision to mental health specialists in Turkey. She completed her masters degree of clinical psychology with her study “The Neurobiological Effect of Masterson Approach Psychotherapy in Borderline Personality Disorder.” She explained the effectiveness of Masterson Approach Psychotherapy through the evidence-based neurobiological findings. She contributed to many international and national congresses with her presentations. She continues her individual and institutional studies in “Eşlik Psikoloji Eğitim ve Danışmanlık Şirketi” (Companion Psychology Education and Counselling Company) which she founded.Currently, she teaches clinical supervision in Boğaziçi University, Koç University, and Özyeğin University.

Robin Yayla

Robin Yayla was born in 1994 in Istanbul, Turkey. He studied in the Department of Industrial Design at Kadir Has University. He moved to Milano in 2017 and he got his Master’s Degree in Art and Design field. By making illustriations on them, he interpreted the characteristics of the cities which he has seen in Europe as different items. The main purpose of Robin Yayla’s illustrations is creating a smile on people’s faces. In his eyes, Galata Tower is a rocket, Eiffel Tower seems like zippers and the Colessium in Rome turns into a Vespa. Robin Yayla showcases the beauties we miss throughout the day with unique twists.

Sema Doğan

Sema Doğan is a 34-year-old, government employee who loves travelling and passionate about sports. She professionally climbs and loves climbing. She describes herself as “someone who lives her dreams without delaying.”

Zafer Sağdıç

Zafer Sağdıç, who was born in Istanbul, started her academic life at Yildiz Technical University Faculty of Architecture, Department of History of Architecture after she graduated from Yildiz Technical University on 1996. She had her Master’s Degree at Istanbul Technical University, then she got her Doctorate’s Degree at Yildiz Technical University. She has been to many different places of the world for many conference, symposium organizations as an invited speaker and she has taken part in many international workshop organizations. She has written 5 books and lots of articles on architecture up until this day. After she completed her post-doc studies at Berlin Technical University, she started to work at Yildiz Technical University until these days. Nowadays, Her studies are focused on space designs shaped by neo-liberalist economies. Pannels she has organized during this pandemic period can be watched through the Internet.
