Dr Babar Afzal

Hacker turned Shepherd
Babar is a sustainability and climate change crusader from Jammu & Kashmir (Himalayas). His journey is a one which is an intertwine of several different threads. It’s about a former McKinsey Analyst, an Ethical Hacker who quit his Silicon Valley career and chose to become a “Shepherd”. And took upon himself to guard the roots of the authentic Pashmina Eco-System across Himalayas. He wants to break the monopolies in favour of the communities at the bottom of the pyramid, while conserving and enhancing the life of the Pashmina Goats and delivering on 8 of the 17 UNSDGs. He is a Shepherd, Author, Artist, Activist, Hardcore Techie and the founder of the Pashmina Goat Project. He has been profiled by TIME Magazine “The Genius Issue”, BBC, CNN, Bloomberg etc. And his life and work was chosen for making a documentary film ‘The Call of Pashmina’ by international directors.

Kanika Tekriwal

A pursuer of optimism, drive, and excellence - Ms Kanika Tekriwal, CEO & Co-Founder, JetSetGo, first entered the aviation industry at the age of 17, hustling college and a full-time job. With over a decade of hands-on experience in the aviation industry, Kanika Tekriwal is redefining what it means to fly through pioneering JetSetGo which currently manages and operates India’s largest private jet and helicopter fleet. Kanika is pioneering air taxis with intracity connectivity in India using EvTOL’S. Her focus is on using the third dimension, the sky, as the future of transport. Her expertise and vision have brought her the National Entrepreneurship Award from the Govt. of India and numerous coveted lists, such as Forbes’ 30 Under 30, BBC’s 100 Most Inspirational Women, Young Global Leader by World Economic Forum, CNN’s 20 Under 40, Game Changer by Times She Unltd and Leading Wealthy Women under 40 List by Harun India.

Ms Lina Ashar

Edupreneur
Lina Ashar did her primary schooling in England before moving to Australia, where she acquired a bachelor’s degree in Education from Melbourne’s, Victoria College. In 1991, she came to India on a year-long sabbatical from college. While connecting with her roots, she landed up taking a teaching stint at a prestigious heritage school in suburban Mumbai, an experience that changed her life and led to the burning question “How can she bring back the joy of childhood for the children in India?” The conviction to offer an education that set the child at the centre, began with a preschool in Bandra (Mumbai) in the year 1993 with 25 students. With a successful formula at hand, she went from one preschool (Kangaroo Kids) to a network of them, whilst branching out to high schools (BHIS) as well. Lina has written two books on parenting. She continues her strive with new initiatives such as Korroboree that maximises the potential of individuals as influential people in the lives of children.

Ms Priyamvada Taneja

Founder of Priyamvada Taneja Consulting, an education consulting firm Ms Priyamvada has extensive knowledge of National and International curricula and higher education systems around the world. In her career span of 22 years, she has worked with International Baccalaureate (IB) as Regional Manager – India, spearheading the strategic growth and recognition of IB programmes in India, Fieldwork Education as Regional Manager – India Middle East & Africa, responsible for strategy and growth of the curriculum in these key regions, The British School, New Delhi, as University Guidance Counsellor, leading the college counselling programme successfully placing students at leading universities across the world.

Sarah Shah

Educationist
Born and brought up in Bangalore Ms Sarah Shah runs the Turtuk Valley School in Ladakh. She holds a bachelor’s degree in interior design from Mount Carmel College and has left no stone unturned to follow her heart and passion. Ms Sarah moved to the mountains with a curiosity to explore her passion to teach kids in the remote villages nestled in the deep mountains. While in Ladakh she began exploring villages and came across Turtuk, the Northernmost village of India and then there was no turning back for her. A dream followed and achieved through sheer belief and determination.

Sriram Subramanian

Education
Mr.Sriram Subramaniam is the founder and CEO of Callido Learning, an organisation that aims at developing resources for the learning and assessment of skills in the 21st century in a fun and engaging way while making students better problem solvers and critical thinkers. He is an alum of Brown University, UCL and Imperial College London. He has lived and worked in the US, UK and India in a myriad of industries, including transportation, taxation and education. Given his breadth of experience, he brings a unique perspective of what it means to follow one’s dreams and how to set up a good foundation to do that.
