In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Angela is a current senior at Shanghai American School Puxi, an incoming freshman at Brown University, as well as an avid reader, writer, tea-brewer, and lover of psychology.

Claire Li

Claire Li is a student who is passionate about books, psychology, music, and politics. She loves public speaking and opportunities to share her interests with others.

Elizabeth Chu

Liz is a high school flutist, composer, and singer/songwriter aiming to spread mental health awareness through her music. Some of her original works include “Still Hidden,” “Delusional,” “Magic,” and “Chinese Boat Song.”

Jacquelynn Lin

As a student of the class of 2021 at Shanghai American School, Jacquelynn Lin has always harbored a passion for activism, much thanks to her successful career in debating. In her free time, she enjoys watching cute videos and talking with her friends about food.

Joel Warren

A passionate International educator who has taught in four different countries, Joel currently teaches Social Studies at Shanghai American School.

Johnny Chen

Johnny is a senior at Shanghai American school and will be heading off to join Columbia University’s class of 2025 next year, studying literature and philosophy. In his free time, he is an avid debater, reader, writer, and a self-proclaimed epicure.
