Join us in the fall of 2021 and experience a new level of thinking and intriguing conversations from our Community Leaders who are making loud moves silently.

Words are powerful, they can inspire generations, create lasting impressions and become the underlying forces that shape the present and future. These Community Leaders are using their platforms and creative ideas to inspire change and create next level greatness.

It is our hope to bring to whoever is ready to listen ideas and concepts worth sharing. Our inspirational and motivational speakers are ready to share with you their thought provoking messages.

Aleem Syed

Chef, Restaurateur (Owner, The Holy Grill Food Truck)
Early in Chef Aleem’s adult life he suffered an unfortunate accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. With his families love and support, this accident did not darken his dreams it only served to motivate Aleem to keep moving forward in life and achieve success in opening The Holy Grill Food Truck. Chef Aleem worked with builders and designers of the food truck to create a custom space specific to his needs. The result, Canada’s first wheelchair accessible food truck. Aleem has reminded us that we all have the ability to do what we want with what we are given. Aleem’s goals of creating a space where he could thrive while living his passion of cooking, has created a huge and loyal following of eager foodies ready to try his next creation. Chef Aleem, recent winner of Toronto’s Best Fried Chicken Sandwich, has proved through his hard work, dedication and passion, that if we really want something, it is always within our reach!!

Alixandra Krahn

PhD Candidate, University Sport Coach
Alix has been participating in sport as both an athlete and a coach for most of her life. She was a multi-sport athlete growing up, eventually deciding to play volleyball at the post-secondary level. As a student-athlete Alix published an article titled Police record checks: Athlete protection or political smokescreen? setting her on an academic conquest to figure out what motivates sport coaches. Admittedly, Alix was always skeptical of coaches and it was not until she started coaching herself that she learned how difficult it was to coach. The once student-athlete transitioned to a student-coach, coaching and pursing her passion for academics. For the last five years Alix has been researching and publishing on various topics linked to the powerful sport coach figure. At the heart of her work, is her personal mission, which is to use courage, compassion, and connection in order to build a sport community where everyone is empowered to become the best version of themselves.

Carl Lyte

Fitness Instructor, George Brown College
Carl Lyte is a community leader who has motivated and inspired many through the projects he has managed over the years. Carl’s work as a Fitness Instructor, with the Toronto District School Board and various colleges throughout Toronto has served to help thousands of individuals to understand the importance of physical fitness and wellness. As a Fitness Instructor Carl not only trains but educates those who take his classes on the physical and emotional benefits of exercise and wellness. In addition to his role as a Fitness Instructor, Carl, is a social entrepreneur who is making changes with his motivational and inspirational messages about how to live a purposeful and meaningful life. Carl is a true Agent of Change as his work both professionally and personally has served to inspire, inform, motivate and educate.

Daniella Green

Business Innovator
Daniella Green is the founder of a sustainability engineering and consulting firm that focuses on transitioning corporations in tech, oil and gas to cost effective and impactful paths to green/renewable energy and green ways of doing business. As a woman of colour, educated, driven, and a desire to constantly get more out of her career, she knows first hand of the complexities that women of colour and women in general face. Daniella has made it her mission to dedicate her time to assisting other women in finding the confidence to advance their careers and businesses. Daniella created her platform to help eliminate the fear of not knowing “how”, and to teach minorities how to win. Daniella assists women in attaining their career goals, she understands racial dynamics in the corporate world, and brings her valuable knowledge into everything she does as an expert in her field.

DeAntwann Johnson

Founder of DJ Inspires, Youth Advocate
DeAntwann “DJ” Johnson is a husband, father, author, mentor, counselor, and sports statistician. He grew up in the Indiana foster care system and yet despite that, has gone on to lead a successful, and fulfilling life. Before spending nine years in the foster care system, DJ suffered child abuse, domestic abuse, and emotional trauma. At one point, he wanted to end his life, but he realized that he was on this earth for a purpose. It wasn’t an easy road, but DJ was fortunate enough to have several people throughout his life who inspired him to do great things, in spite of everything that he had been through. He worked hard to overcome a life full of hardships, humiliation, aggression, and self-esteem issues, allowing him to be an active advocate for youth. DJ is a compassionate man who has a special place in his heart for uplifting and inspiring students to be the best that they can be.

Julia Hammond

Doctor of Veterinarian Medicine
We believe that most people in their lifetime would aspire to have someone repeat these words in reference to their characters, strong, successful and inspirational. Well these words eloquently describe our unique and talented speaker, Julia Hammond. Julia’s personal achievements are admirable; graduating with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the age of 23, becoming a Veterinarian in a successful practice, and raising two beautiful children into adulthood. Through her professional career and personal accomplishments Julia has certainly attained her goal of becoming a role model for young women from marginalized groups. Julia is a woman who sets an example for all women of what it is like to create goals, work towards those goals and successfully achieve those goals. Julia personifies her belief that all women, have the right to be strong, open-minded, experimental and respected as equals in the world. Don't miss Julia's talk, What is Feminine Behaviour? Malvika Aeron

Founder of Accelerate Plus
Malvika is an undergraduate student in her final year of business school. But more interestingly, she's a social entrepreneur and Founder of AcceleratePlus, an enterprise dedicated to helping and supporting youth in their career exploration through opportunities, resources, and a community platform. By channelling her passion of helping students through her start-up, she's impacted more than 20K+ students and been featured on Forbes, Earnest and TheMuse about her work as a student entrepreneur and career coach. When she's not working or studying, you can find her travelling and exploring new cuisines! You won't want to miss what Malvika is talking about.
