In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Rachel Inman

UX Design Lead at Google
Rachel Inman, along with many other UX designers and researchers who work on Google Maps, carefully observe how people navigate and explore the world. They synthesize these observations to create helpful features that address people's needs both locally and globally. In this talk, Inman will give a glimpse into how she and her team have used their observation and synthesis skills to better reflect the dynamic nature of the world on the map, reinvent walking navigation using augmented reality, help small business owners and their customers during COVID-19, and make Google Maps more inclusive for Black-owned businesses.

Rev. Heidi Carrington Heath

Consultant and Adjunct Chaplain
The Rev. Heidi Carrington Heath is a preacher, teacher, activist, and writer. Currently, she works as a consultant and adjunct Chaplain. Most recently, she served as the Interim Director of Religious and Spiritual Life at Phillips Exeter Academy where she was both the first woman and the first queer person ever to hold that role. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Young Clergy Women International. She loves empowering women and girls, dismantling oppressive structures to build liberative possibilities in their place, live music, and great food.

Scott Fried

Motivational Speaker and Educator
Scott Fried is a youth educator, international award-winning speaker and writer. As a person living with HIV for more than three decades, he was part of and survived that 20th century pandemic, where his HIV/AIDS support group became the inspiration for the Broadway musical "RENT." Scott's work spotlights the teenage years, shining a powerful message of love, responsibility and self-respect.
