In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Arjun Gupta

30 Under 30 Sustainability Leader
Arjun works as a Senior Associate at RMI India. Arjun’s work is focused on decarbonizing India’s Electricity Sector to accelerate the clean energy transition in India. Prior to RMI India, Arjun was building a 400 MW Utility-Scale Solar project in Gujarat, India. He has spent almost a decade in the cleantech space focusing on the deployment of off-grid electrification, commercial solar rooftop, and microgrid projects across North America, the Philippines & India. He was recognized as one of the Top 30 Under 30 Sustainability Leaders in Canada for his work in the cleantech sector.

Breanna Lam

Incoming Ph.D. Student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Breanna Lam received her molecular and cell biology undergraduate degree from UC San Diego, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude at the age of 20. While at UC San Diego, Breanna was selected as a Regents Scholar and received multiple research-orientated scholarships, such as the Ledell Scholarship for Science and Engineering. Breanna is also an incoming graduate student at the #1 Ph.D. program for biological sciences in the United States - Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She will begin her Ph.D. program in September 2021. Her research accomplishments have also resulted in her receiving the highly prestigious National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship. Breanna’s experience and expertise on the Ph.D. process are widely shared on LinkedIn, her blog, and her instructional guide. Through these platforms, she hopes to “Demystify the Ph.D. Process” for first-generation, minority, and international students, and make higher education more accessible for all.

Currently, he is a Kubernetes 1.22 Release Shadow, CNCF Intern ’20, MLH Coach for APAC, Gold Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador, CNCF Ambassador, MLH Fellowship Team Leader, GitHub Campus Expert, Google Summer of Code Mentor at Red Hat Middleware. He also finds passion in teaching and has taught more than 30,000 students. He runs a community named Code for Cause, focused on Open Source and Education. The platform is utilized by conducting hands-on technical workshops, events, podcasts, and sharing about opportunities in the field watched by thousands of people.

Vedant Bahel is an Indian author and researcher. Vedant's primary area of research is in the domain of Machine Learning and Robot navigation optimization. He has multiple publications in his field, in form of research papers and books. Bahel is a 2021 MITACS Canada GRI scholar and also was awarded the IEEE Richard E Merwin award in early 2021.
