December 9, 2021
Luleå, Norrbottens län

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Anna Ståhlbröst

Professor in Information Systems
Anna Ståhlbröst is professor at the department of Information systems at Luleå University of Technology. Anna’s research interest focuses user and citizen engagement in the co-creation, implementation and evaluation of digital service innovations that create an added value for people and society. Anna created a method called “Living Lab”. She said until a few years ago that she is in particular interested in the application area smart cities and regions, but in the past years, she has also focused on rural areas. Within this topic, she is interested in understanding human needs, value and motivation in relation to digital innovations such as the Internet of Things, city services, and privacy enhancement/awareness services. Anna will talk about what the digital transformation does to people living in rural areas (not on what technologies that can be used).

Gertrud Åström

business and organisation developer
Gertrud Åström is one of Sweden's leading gender equality experts. She is originally from Kalix, has studied Social Sciences, Stockholm and Uppsala, and has for decades been involved in issues related to creating a society with equal opportunities for women and men. In her book Kontakt i kris: om kvinnors plats i välfärdsstaten, Gertrud problematises how norms shape a business, and how gender affects the design, power structure and resource allocation of an organisation. The book was published together with Professor Yvonne Hirdman in 1992. In 2004, Gertrud was appointed to lead the government’s work on gender equality policies and contributed to the report Makt att forma samhället och sitt eget liv. For several years, Gertrud was the General Secretary of Ordfront and CEO of Ordfront (publisher). Today, she runs the company Hela HUT AB with a focus on the importance of gender equality for sustainable development, and is regularly engaged as a lecturer and expert in gender issues.

Hanna Linderstål

CEO
Hanna Linderstål is the CEO of the Earhart Business Protection Agency, which is working to increase business and government knowledge of information impact and virtual threats. There is no doubt today about power through social media. Information impact, disinformation and fake news have become part of our communication and information landscape. Today we collect information and truth through friends' reviews and stories in social media to a greater extent than from the facts. Both government and business need to review the vulnerability of getting our information from social media. When the perceived truth sets the agenda for our way of acting, we need a readiness to face the impact of information. Hanna Linderstål will hold a societal talk about how people use technology and how ignorance in leadership creates insecurity for many people. She will discuss how leadership creates trust in changing times.
