In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Bonzo Reddick

Medical Doctor
Bonzo is the Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, the Chair of the Department of Community Medicine, and a professor in the Community Medicine and Family Medicine departments at Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah, GA. He practices at the JC Lewis Primary Health Care Center, a federally qualified health center (FQHC) and designated healthcare for the homeless (HCH) site.

Caleb Brown

Professional Speaker and Artist
Caleb Brown is an acclaimed artist, influential speaker, and former athlete who draws on his personal, professional, and athletic experiences to help others paint a life fit for a museum. A 2016 Mercer graduate specializing in portraits, his client list includes a U.S. President, a Grammy Award-winner, best-selling authors, world-renowned entertainers, and professional athletes. He was the opening speaker at TEDxSavannah in 2019 and has worked with numerous organizations including Mercer University, the National Football League, and the Georgia High School Association. Whether it’s through original artwork, commissions, or keynote speeches, he uses the canvas of his life to inspire others to work tirelessly towards painting the life they love.

Ha Van Vo

Professor of Engineering
Dr. Ha Van Vo is a native of southern Vietnam and a survivor of the Vietnam war. He came to Mercer in 2005 with a PhD in biomedical engineering, an MD (Doctor of Medicine), and a DPM (Doctor of Podiatric Medicine). Dr. Vo designed an adjustable and cost-effective Universal Socket Prosthetic leg, leading to the development of Mercer’s renowned Mercer on Mission to Vietnam where Mercer students treat and fit amputees in local Vietnamese clinics.

Stormy Orlin

Medical Student
Working hard her whole life, Stormy Orlin has been able to fuel herself to become the best. However, she came to the realization that success was more than what she had initially thought it was. Changing professions from an IT Product Manager in Silicon Valley to studying medicine at Mercer, Stormy has found her passion and direction in caring and serving others.
