Cheryl Tan

Executive Director, Singapore Mental Health Film Festival
Cheryl is an imperfect human with an infectious laugh. She has dedicated her life to uncover the dark and light within herself, constantly expanding her inner awareness to observe the intricate stories that surface with each layer. She came from the advertising world where she was driven by educating the masses on brand stories. Now, she has switched her focus to use raw human stories to inspire courage and love in the people around her. Cheryl is the Executive Director of the Singapore Mental Health Film Festival, a non-profit organisation that uses film as a catalyst to advocate and promote conversations about mental health. She is also the founder of The Breathe Movement. Cheryl is a 2019 Obama Leader: Asia-Pacific.

Crystal Abidin

Anthropologist and Ethnographer of Internet Cultures
Dr Crystal Abidin is an anthropologist of vernacular internet cultures, especially influencer cultures, internet celebrity, online visibility, and social media pop cultures. She is Senior Research Fellow & ARC DECRA Fellow in Internet Studies at Curtin University. Crystal has published over 60 articles and chapters on various aspects of influencer cultures, and her books include: Internet Celebrity: Understanding Fame Online (2018, Emerald), Microcelebrity Around the Globe: Approaches to Cultures of Internet Fame (co-edited with Megan Lindsay Brown, 2018, Emerald), Instagram: Visual Social Media Cultures (co-authored with Tama Leaver & Tim Highfield, 2020, Polity), and Mediated Interfaces: The Body on Social Media (co-edited with Katie Warfield & Carolina Cambre, 2020, Bloomsbury).

Gary Lim

Visually Impaired Guide/Facilitator, Dialogue In The Dark
Gary is a facilitator with social enterprise Dialogue In The Dark. He began losing his sight in his thirties when he was diagnosed with glaucoma. Despite several operations, he became fully blind in 2017. Despite his easy-going nature, he is not one to surrender during tough times. A free spirit, Gary expresses himself through songwriting along with the guitar. One can always find him with his Guide Dog, Jordie, on one arm navigating around Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Jasper Yap

Chief Technology Officer (CTO) & Co-Founder, Eezee
Jasper Yap is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Co-Founder at Eezee, Singapore’s largest B2B marketplace. An academic scholar and entrepreneur, Jasper was recognized as one of Forbes 30 Under 30 young entrepreneurs and game changers in Retail & Ecommerce. Jasper heads the Technology Division in Eezee, where he and his team develop new business technologies, data management strategies and platform integrations.

Lavinia Thanapathy

Lavinia is the Founding Chair of Inspiring Girls Singapore and a former Vice President at the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO). She is committed to creating an equal future through the empowerment of women & girls. A lawyer by training and a branding expert by profession, Lavinia is the editor and co-author of the Amazon bestseller “Unleash Your Voice: Powerful Public Speaking for Every Woman.” Lavinia is a sought-after speaker and media commentator on diversity, change and leadership. She was a three-term President at PrimeTime Business & Professional Women’s Association and has served as Honorary Secretary at HCA Hospice Care. Her board roles have led to her addressing a diverse range of Organisations including the World Intellectual Property Organisation, OCBC, DHL and Google. Currently based in Berlin, Germany, Lavinia is a Singaporean married to a German diplomat, and together they have 5 children ranging in ages from 9 to 29.

Morgan Yeo

Co-Founder, Roger&Sons
Roger&Sons is a team of ethical makers and mavericks who craft fine furniture and thoughtful objects. Their work is driven by inquiry and spans disciplines: furniture, industrial, and product design, as well as woodworking. Over the years, the cultivation of sustainability and social responsibility has become core beliefs that drive the team. Morgan Yeo, the eldest of the co-founders, leads the company in the pursuit of sustainable methods and processes. A visionary, he is driven and most importantly, a compassionate person. The theme of “family”, runs deep in his values; a value that Morgan holds as utmost importance, is his bond with his employees.
