Dear TEDxers,

Our fourth virtual Salon event themed – Stronger Together? Sit Up and Listen! – is scheduled for Tuesday May 26th, 2020 at 17:00 CET (5.00pm Monaco Time). Save the date, sign-up and share our free virtual session with your friends and colleagues.

In this very special edition, we will host TEDxMonteCarlo alumni Ernesto Sirolli, to discuss how the world of entrepreneurship has changed in a time of crisis and how adaptive, community led, glocal entrepreneurship is a way forward. In this 60 minutes session, Ernesto will share how the last 12 weeks have been the most important in his career while sharing stories of hope and passion that he’s seen from Entrepreneurs around the world. Attendees will have a full 30 minutes Q&A with Ernesto – sharing their ideas, asking for advice, or anything that comes to mind.

At a time of crisis when politics is at center stage, everyone must come together and participate in becoming global citizens for a common good. According to Ernesto – no crisis should be wasted. We are in a war economy and companies/entrepreneurs need to adapt their business models/thinking and align them to how they can be of value to others and their communities.

Ernesto’s TEDx talk from 2012: "Want to help someone? Shut up and listen!" has had over 4 million views. His talk at TEDxMonteCarlo – "Connecting passions – a formula for success" from 2017 has also been a favorite.

Our TEDxMonteCarlo board member, Andrew Knox will co-host the session with our Curator Nazanine Matin.

Dr. Ernesto Sirolli has been referred to as a community development 'Iron Man'. Starting in 1971, when he began his work in International Aid in Africa, Ernesto has been a passionate advocate for local self-determination. His experiences, working in many of the world's poorest communities, confirmed his appreciation for human potential and spurred him to develop Enterprise Facilitation i.e. a model of local economic development based on capturing the passion, intelligence and resolve of local entrepreneurs. Ernesto resides in California and runs the Sirolli Institute, a social enterprise that teaches civic leaders, governments and corporations how to partner with local people to create long lasting prosperity.
