In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Andrew Hooton

Head of Sport, Outdoor and Exercise Science at University of Derby, U.K

Nickie Sutton

Nickie is an experienced Sleep Practitioner who helps individuals and families to identify their strengths and develop successful strategies to improve sleep. She also works nationwide with health, education and charities offering bespoke training programmes for families and professionals. She is delighted to be raising awareness about the importance of good sleep. Her 34 year career in specialist nursing means that she is scrupulous about offering evidence based advice, grounded in science.

Paul Finn

In a long career in conservation Paul worked for the National Trust, taught at university, managed country parks in Nottinghamshire, and was Head Ranger for Derbyshire County Council, where he led on habitat management in general, and trees and woodlands in particular. Recently retired, Paul is involved in a number of projects, including advising on woodland management, and will soon be making a presentation at a conference on the mental health benefits of greenspace. He retains his passion for the environment, his determination to make a difference, and his resolve to keep learning.
