The inspiration behind our theme:
- The world as we know it came to a halt in the pandemic. Each of us has a different conception of what key features comprise of “our world.”
- “Hello, World!” is a computer program used to illustrate the basic syntax of a programming language. It is often the first program written by individuals learning to code. The phrase is used as a sanity test to ensure software runs as expected.
- Thomas Edison put “hello” into common usage. He urged the people who used his phone to say "hello" over “ahoy”, which was endorsed by his rival, Alexander Graham Bell. The first telephone book, published by District Telephone Company of New Haven, Connecticut, promoted the term “hello”, which quickly became common vernacular.
