The first TEDxYouth@CarolineChisholmSchool event. Our goal to instil passion, motivation and ambition - allowing students to view a wide range of new and interesting topics - empowering them with knowledge and the curiosity to learn. The programme will create opportunities for student speakers to take to the stage to contribute ideas and our event will be live-streamed.

Aless Cambio

Progress Leader and History Teacher
Aless has worked in education for the past four years and focused on pupils progress. Prior to training to teach, she obtained a degree in History and American studies with an opportunity to study in the states. Whilst living in California, she became a communications intern for Barack Obama and his re-election campaign in 2012 focusing on mobilising the youth and minorities.

Eleanor Hamilton-Begley

Student
Ellie is an ALevel student at Caroline Chisholm School - she is currently studying Spanish, Chemistry and Biology, with an interest in going into medicine.

Gregory Dallas

Teacher
Gregory spent his childhood growing up in Bletchley, Milton Keynes. His first degree was in English Literature and Politics and after completing his studies, moved to Greece to work in an English Language School. Despite planning to only stay for a year, he went on to spend the next fifteen years running his own school and helping students to gain the necessary qualifications to come and study at universities in the UK. He returned to the UK in 2001 to study for a law degree and train to be a barrister. He has been teaching A level law and a variety of other subjects for the last thirteen years and is also an Amnesty International speaker visiting schools and universities to give talks and take part in debates on Human Rights issues, particularly interested in the European Court of Human Rights and its function as an arbiter of disputes between individuals and their nation-states. Gregory loves attending and making theatre and he enjoys a well-written non-fiction book

Jamie Beaton

Co-Founder and CEO, Crimson Education
Jamie Beaton graduated from Harvard University, Magna Cum Laude in 2016 with a double-degree in Applied Mathematics-Economics and Applied Math. He was also one of the youngest in the world to be accepted to Stanford’s Graduate School of Business at age 20. In June 2019, Jamie graduated from Stanford with an MBA in Computer Science and Education Technology—the youngest ever recipient of the Arjay Miller Award (Top 10% of his class)—having simultaneously begun his PhD as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford. As Co-Founder and CEO of Crimson Education, Jamie now helms a global company dedicated to levelling the playing field in world leading university admissions.

Joe Rich

Progress Leader and PE Teacher
Joe is a Progress Leader and PE Teacher at Caroline Chisholm School who has 14 years of teaching experience. He graduate from DeMontfort University, Bedford. Previously worked for Youth Sport Trust shaping the future of PE. Joe is passionate about Physical Activity and School Sport.

Sam Bailey

Teacher and Fine Artist
Sam is a full-time teacher of art and photography, a practising fine artist, published author of four books and owner of two small art-based businesses. She sold her first work of art at the age of 10 and has continued to develop her working practice to remain current. At university, she attained a first-class honours degree in Fine Art and has sold work all over the world. In more recent years she has become passionate about using her talent to give back to others and has created various works for local school clubs, The Hope Centre, various military charities, PTSD charities and more recently the focus has been on our protective services. She loves that art bridges many divides and can make people smile who never thought they’d smile again.
