Eva Wolfová

Teacher
(SK) Eva je pedagogička, ktorá od roku 2006 vedie projekt študentských firiem a vyučuje Aplikovanú ekonómiu na Gymnáziu Poštová 9, v Košiciach. V rámci projektu učí študentov podnikať so sociálnym a ekologickým dopadom. Študentské firmy pod jej vedením dosahujú úspechy aj v medzinárodnom a európskom kontexte. --- (EN) Eva Wolfová is an educator teaching Applied Economics and leading the Student Company Programme at Gymnázium Poštová 9, Košice, Slovakia. She teaches students to do business with a social and ecological impact. The student companies under her leadership have achieved success and international recognition in the European context.

Ján Markoš

Chess grandmaster, critical thinking lecturer
(SK) Ján Markoš je lektor kritického myslenia a šachový veľmajster. Vyštudoval filozofiu a evanjelickú teológiu, učil na gymnáziu a spoluzakladal Sokratov inštitút. Je autorom manuálu kritického myslenia s názvom Sila rozumu v bláznivej dobe a knihy o etických dilemách Medzi dobrom a zlom. Kniha Pod hladinou: 33 kapitol o tajomstvách šachu získala v roku 2018 od Anglickej šachovej federácie prestížne ocenenie Book of the Year Award. --- (EN) Ján Markoš is a critical thinking lecturer and a chess grandmaster. He studied philosophy and evangelical theology, taught at a grammar school and co-founded Socrates Institute. He is the author of a critical thinking manual titled "The Power of Reason in Crazy Times" and a book on ethical dilemmas "Between Good and Evil". His book "Under the Surface" won him the prestigious 2018 Book of the Year Award from the English Chess Federation.

Ladislav Miko

Soil biologist and ecologist
(SK) Ladislav Miko je pôdny biológ, ekológ a ochranár, rodák z Košíc. Pracoval v Slovenskej akadémii vied i vo vysokých funkciách v Európskej komisii. Bol ministrom životného prostredia Českej republiky. Bol vedúcim Zastúpenia Európskej komisie na Slovensku. Prednáša na viacerých univerzitách, jeho autorské dokumentárne filmy získali medzinárodné ocenenia. Objavil niekoľko druhov pôdnych roztočov a päť druhov pomenovali iní autori jeho menom. --- (EN) Ladislav Miko is a soil biologist, ecologist and conservationist. Born in Košice, he worked at the Slovak Academy of Sciences and served in various senior positions in the European Commission. He was a Minister of the Environment of the Czech Republic. He was the head of the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia. Ladislav Miko is also a lecturer at several universities and an author of award-winning documentaries. He discovered several species of soil mites, and five mite species discovered by others bear his name.

Lenka Petráková

Architect
(SK) Lenka Petráková je architektka, ktorá ukončila postgraduálne štúdium odbornej praxe na University of Westminster a vstúpila do Kráľovského inštitútu britských architektov. Momentálne pracuje pre Zaha Hadid Architects v Londýne na pozícií Senior Architekt, kde sa zameriava na výškové budovy, ako napríklad OPPO HQ v Shenzene. V roku 2020 získala GRAND PRIX AWARD za konceptuálny návrh projektu Ôsmy kontinent. Ide o multifunkčné zariadenie, ktoré ponúka riešenie na čistenie a výskum oceánov. --- (EN) An architect working for Zaha Hadid Architects, London, Lenka Petráková is the mastermind behind her flagship project Eighth Continent, a floating station to clean up and research our oceans which won the 2020 Grand Prix Award for Architecture and Innovation of the Sea.

Lubomír Sazeček

Angola hijack survivor
(SK) Lubomír Sazeček pracoval ako robotník v papierňach. V roku 1981 odchádza v rámci technickej pomoci do papierne v Angole. Tu zaúča miestnych pracovníkov do výroby celulózy. Bol jedným z 66 Čechov a Slovákov – účastníkov dramatického únosu, ktorých sa ozbrojenci povstaleckej UNITA zmocnili v marci 1983. Po 1300 km pochodu džungľou a ďalšom vyše roku v internačnom tábore v angolskej divočine sa v júni 1984 vrátil do vlasti. Svoje zážitky opísal v piatich knihách. --- (EN) Lubomír Sazeček worked as a paper mill worker. In 1981, he left for Angola as part of a technical assistance team, to train local workers in pulp production at a local paper mill. He was one of 66 Czechs and Slovaks seized by UNITA´s rebels in the dramatic abduction in March 1983. He returned home only in June 1984, after a 1,300 km long march through the jungle and more than a year spent in an internment camp in the Angolan wilderness. He shared his experience from Angola in four books.

Svetlana Žuchová

Psychiatrist
(SK) Svetlana Žuchová, psychiatrička, pracovala na Psychiatrickej klinike 1.LF a VFN v Prahe, na psychosomatickom oddelení Schoen Klinik v bavorskom Rosenheime, v pražskom súkromnom zariadení TH klinika a aktuálne je psychiatrička vo všeobecnej ambulancii Národního ústavu duševního zdraví v Klecanoch. Profesionálne sa dlhý čas venovala najmä liečbe porúch príjmu potravy. Je autorkou štyroch kníh beletrie a prekladá odborné publikácie a beletriu z nemčiny a angličtiny. Žije pri Prahe. --- (EN) Svetlana Žuchová is a psychiatrist. She worked in several psychiatric and psychosomatic clinics and departments in Prague and in Bavarian Rosenheim. Currently she works in general psychiatric outpatient clinic in National Institute of Mental Health in Klecany. Here main area of professional interest for several years now have been eating disorders. She is an author of four fiction novels and she translates professional publications and fiction from German and English. She lives in a Prague suburb.

Viktor Beránek

Mountain porter
Legendárny chatár Viktor Beránek (69) prišiel do hôr v čase, keď odišiel zo strednej školy, lebo mu hrozil trest za príživníctvo. Vystriedal viacero vysokohorských chát, kým sa v roku 1977 usadil ako chatár na najvyššie položenej chate Slovenska v nadmorskej výške 2 250 metrov. Na chate pod Rysmi pôsobí už viac ako 40 rokov. Najväčšiu rolu v horách pre ňho zohráva sloboda. Nie je v horách len kvôli ich kráse, ale hlavne kvôli tomu, že sa tu cíti slobodný. --- Viktor Beránek (69) is a legendary mountain hut keeper and porter. For the past 40 years he has been a hut keeper at the highest-altitude mountain hut in Slovakia, 2,250 meters above sea level. In his eyes, there is nothing more important in the mountains than freedom. He chose living a simple life in mountains not just for their beauty, but mainly because they are a place where he feels free.
