Alexis Williams

Alexis Williams is a 19-year-old computer programmer at New York University. As a second-generation Black and Latinx woman navigating a field with meager gender and racial diversity, she always felt she stuck out like a sore thumb. Throw her flair for fashion and style into the mix and it’s the perfect recipe for Imposter Syndrome. Navigating the world of technology as a minority has not been easy but her passion always prevailed over her desire to conform. Alexis now brings her activism, identity, and resilience into everything she codes and hopes to inspire others to do the same.

Cesar Cervantes

Cesar Cervantes is the founder of GoodOne., where he teaches about engaging communication and leadership.

Jacob Anderson

Jacob Anderson has spent the last ten years working to improve the community’s experience of their government. From IT to sustainability, he has worked across the city government combining innovation and empathy to make government work better for all people. Jacob has implemented technology, created policy, and tweaked processes for local government, and he shares his passion for training “Civic Superheroes” to use technology to improve their community.

Rosie Suerdieck

Rosie Suerdieck is a former Capitol Hill staffer who, after having her own four children, developed a passion for teaching children about the American government. After being interviewed by a Colorado Springs news station in 2016 about how she spoke with her young children about politics during a contentious election cycle, Rosie decided to pursue her Master of Arts in Government from Johns Hopkins University, which eventually led to her 2020 TEDxSalon talk. Rosie believes that parents can feel empowered to talk to their children confidently about government, regardless of what grade they got in high school civics classes, through asking questions, simple conversations, and practicing active civic participation.
