At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ahmed Mousa

Dr Ahmed Hafez Mousa, born in Saudi Arabia, and originally from Egypt, has successfully completed his MBBS degree with honors and is currently a medical intern. Dr Ahmed has been a distinguished student and researcher at his institution by all means. Dr Ahmed currently has more than 10 publications in well renowned journals, being the highest ever number of publications by a medical student at his institution. Also, Dr Ahmed is currently a student member of various prestigious international surgical societies, namely the American College of Surgeons and the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (being the first in his institution to gain membership in these honorable societies). On his free time, Dr Ahmed has various interests, basketball being definitely on top of the list. Dr Ahmed has been the team captain and was awarded the most valuable player award while being part of his high school basketball team.

Basma Hashem

Basma Hashem graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom. She is currently working as the Research Coordinator at Batterjee Medical College.

Dr. Ahmed Altayyar

Dr.Ahmed Altayyar is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and the Vice Dean for Development at the Faculty of Pharmacy, King Abdulaziz University KAU. He is the Director of Interprofessional Education Unit and a Consultant at Batterjee Medical College BMC, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. After His Graduation with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from KAU, he received an Advanced Clinical Pharmacy Practice Certificate from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in 2012. Dr. Al Tayyar completed a Pharmacy Practice residency and specialist residency in clinical pharmacy management for Banner Health System - University Medical Center Tucson, formerly the University of Arizona Medical Center. In 2014, he completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Outcomes and Comparative Effectiveness Research at the Center for Health Outcomes and Research in Pharmacoeconomics (HOPE). He received several awards, including the Student Excellency Award from the Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Washington DC, USA and Faculty of the Year Award. Dr. Al-Tayyar has published more than 30 articles and participated in many conferences and workshops locally and internationally.

Dr. Ahmed Altyar

Dr.Ahmed Altayyar is an Associate Professor of pharmacy practice and the Vice Dean for Development at the Faculty of Pharmacy, King Abdulaziz University KAU, and the Director of Interprofessional Education Unit and a Consultant at Batterjee Medical College BMC, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. After His Graduation with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from KAU, he received an Advanced Clinical Pharmacy Practice Certificate from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in 2012. Dr.Altayyar Also completed a pharmacy practice residency and a specialized residency in Health-System Clinical Pharmacy Administration at Banner - University Medical Center Tucson, formerly known as the University of Arizona Medical Center. In 2014 he completed his Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Outcomes and Comparative Effectiveness Research at the Center for Health Outcomes and Pharmacoeconomic Research (HOPE) Center. In 2016, he was awarded a post-graduate Diploma in teaching and learning from KAU. His current research focuses on clinical service management, clinical comparative and effectiveness research, and medical education.

Dr. Asala Wafa

She received her Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery in 2020. She works as a family doctor in the Ministry of Health and is an influencer on social networking sites. She was able to take on many roles and positions, many of which were in BMC. She participated in many conferences and social media campaigns that discussed COVID-19.

Dr. Baderaldeen Altazi

Dr. Baderaldeen Altazi received his Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering with a major in Medical Physics in July 2009 from King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He received his MA and PhD degrees in Applied Physics with a specialization in Medical Physics in May 2014 and December 2017, respectively, from the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa, Florida. He received the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Basic/Translational Science Abstract Award in Radiation Physics. He graduated from McGill University's Radiation Oncology Residency Program on March 31, 2021.

Dr. Ibrahim Sobeih

Assistant Professor at the University of Science and Technology in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Sobeih worked in various universities in the Gulf Cooperation Council and North America. Before starting his Ph.D. at UAEU, he earned a master’s degree from New York University of Technology, New York, USA, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada.

Dr. Ibrahim Subeh

Dr. Subeh is among the first to write a PhD dissertation on blockchain technology. As an assistant professor and a keynote speaker at various international conferences, he is actively engaged in debating how industry 4.0 will reshape our world. Dr. Subeh worked at various universities in GCC and North America. Prior to commencing his doctorate at UAE University, he acquired his MA from NYIT, New York, USA, and his BA from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. His areas of expertise include FinTech, RegTech and NFTs.

Dr. Ikhlas Sindi

Dr. Ikhlas Abdel Aziz Sindi is a researcher in the field of biotechnology and medical genetics. Presented many scientific researches. She received her MSc and PhD degrees from the Faculty of Medicine in Molecular Medical Genetics from the University of Queensland, Australia. She has received many scientific awards, including the Cultural Attache Award for Excellence in Australia and the Jeddah Award for Creativity. She participated in many conferences and workshops at the local and international levels. She worked as an Assistant Professor at King Abdulaziz University and now is the Director of Scientific Research and Social Responsibility at Batterjee Medical College and the Vice Dean for Student Affairs.

Dr. Iyad Fatih

Dr. Iyad Fatih is an Interventional Radiologist Consultant and an Assistant Professor and Head of Radiology Department at College of Medicine, University of Jeddah. He is the Secretary-General of the Saudi Society of Interventional Radiology and member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Radiological Society. He graduated from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He was trained in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. He is a Certified Radiologist from the Royal College of Physicians (Canada) and the American Board of Radiology.

Dr. Moayad Althaqafi

Moayad Ahmed Al-Thaqafi is a Saudi actor and doctor who graduated in 2013 from King Abdulaziz University (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery). • Moayyad's fame rose in 2012 when he starred in the first Saudi drama series on YouTube, "Taki". The series achieved great success, as the viewership of the first season reached 30 million views, and now shown on the Netflix platform. • Presented the medical educational program (Medical Term) on SBC channel.

Dr. Nouf Alshreif

Dr. Nouf Alshreif is an Assistant Professor of English at Batterjee Medical College. She holds a PhD in Composition and Applied Linguistics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She holds a Master's Degree in Composition and Applied Linguistics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from California Lutheran University. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in English and Education. Dr. Alshreif is a scientific researcher and educator who received a number of scientific and teaching awards. Dr. Alshreif received the Scholar for the Deam Award 2019 from the National Council of Teachers of English in USA. In addition, she received the Teaching Excellency Award 2017 From Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Sahira Nahari

Doctor
Dr. Nahari holds a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery. She is currently working as an Emergency Resident at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh. She has an interest in promoting medical ethics and law regulations to ensure that the rights and duties of patients and medical staff are upheld. She was selected from over 18,000 applicants for the McKinsey Summit Fellowship in 2019.
