In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ben Evans

Professor
Ben Evans is professor of English at Central Wyoming College, instructing English Composition, American Indian Literature, Creative Writing, and Public Speaking. Akin to love for mixing language and creativity is his respect for the spirit of wilderness, the power of tribal people, the wisdom of mysticism, the peace of Macrobiotics, the joy of drums, and the magic of songwriting. He plays guitar, makes records, and practices the Dzogchen meditation of Vajrayana Buddhism. Ben also prays and sings in the sweat lodge with beloved spiritual family. In awe at early dawn sunlight on still-bare cottonwood branches bathed in cloudless blue, he enjoys life at the north edge of Riverton's city park.
