In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Akshatha Giridhar

Why is one person better off than another? How can we reduce income inequality and poverty? Having lived in India and Singapore, two completely contrasting countries in terms of economic development, and spending most of her summers in her rural hometown in India, Akshata has grown a keen interest in understanding the underlying differences. These thoughts triggered her passion for economics, public policy, and development.

Gauri Kanodia

Gauri's life has been a non-stop rotation of cities, countries, and cultures, with her journey starting in Bombay, transiting through Dubai, London, and Kolkata, and ending in Singapore. She believes that her erratic childhood forged her ability to thrive in uncertainty; and conditioned her to look for solutions wherever possible; be it in game theory, financial engineering, or the chemistry lab. She is graduating from NPSi this year, and her hopes for the future include perfecting her chess skills, and strategizing to find tangible solutions to 21st century problems.

Georgina Chang

Ms.Georgina Chang is a well-known radio and television personality recognized across South East Asia, India, and the Middle East as a presenter on Channel V and ESPN Star Sports, where she interviewed Roger Federer, J-Lo and Harrison Ford. She then moved on to promoting radio and television celebrities in Singapore, and discovering and developing young talent into stars. Her current purpose is empowering entrepreneurs by building their confidence to present to their audience, online and on stage.

Kedar Pai

Kedar is doing his IB Year 2 at NPS International School, Singapore. In addition to academics, he is interested in music, sports, and public speaking. He is a self-learned drummer and guitarist, who has participated in a plethora of musical events across Singapore. Further, he has been a member of the NPSI cricket team representing his school in various tournaments earlier. Kedar is an avid public speaker, active on the inter-school MUN circuit, and has participated in various capacities including MUN head-chair. His love for public speaking has drawn him to TEDx, which is the ultimate platform for espousing impactful ideas across the planet. As part of his IB program, he has taken part in several volunteering activities. He intends to continue volunteering in the future as his humble way of giving back to the community.

Nithya Suresh

pNithya Suresh was born and raised in the UK and moved to Singapore six years ago. She is currently taking the IB programme at NPS International School. Sharvani Sivakumar

Sharvani is an Indian who grew up in Singapore, a cosmopolitan city in Southeast Asia. Being brought up with the constant exposure to both Asian and Western cultures shapes her view of herself and the world. Having immersed herself into the world of yoga and Vedic philosophy while currently pursuing her undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences at Cambridge University, Sharvani enjoys investigating the interdisciplinary nature of human health, both physical and mental. In her free time, she enjoys watching nature documentaries, growing her YouTube channel, experimenting with vegan recipes and hugging her loved ones.

Tarunyaa Sivakumar

Tarunyaa is a nerd. She loves astronomy AND anime and hence is, irrevocably and undeniably, a ‘n e r d’. She accepts it though. In fact, she wholeheartedly enjoys being a nerd. She relishes inducing existential dread in herself through the medium of stargazing, and she absolutely loves seeing characters react to morally skewed situations in anime. When she is not nerding out, she is attempting to enjoy IB, playing the ukulele in her room, annoying her sister, or engaging with the zeitgeist of the 21st century through Model United Nations.

Yash Puneet

Yash Puneet is an undergraduate student fascinated by the development of technology and started working with the electronic circuits and microcontrollers when he was ten. He also loves interacting with animals, especially dogs and tigers (when he gets the chance to), and enjoys having conversations with them. Over time, these interests developed into a passion for animal psychology and robotics, especially finding ways to bring robotic cognition closer to human and animal levels. In his free time, he loves reading and losing himself in new worlds through the experiences of fictional characters as well as framing his own experiences in a fictional setting.
