In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Andrea Bischoff

Seit 1997 ist sie Solo Oboistin im Luzerner Sinfonieorchester. Als Musikerin beschäftigt sie sich quasi professionell mit der Frage, wie Klang entsteht und was es braucht, dass er wirkt. Andrea Bischoff erkärt uns, was der Klang eines Orchester ausmacht und was wir daraus lernen können.

Angela Vögtli

Angela Vögtli ist mit Spielen aufgewachsen. «Wir haben als Familie viel gespielt. Bei uns gab es keinen Fernseher, dafür einen Flipperkasten im Wohnzimmer.» Später hat sie selbst Gesellschaftsspiele entwickelt und auf den Markt gebracht. Sie schätzt vor allem deren sozialen Charakter. «Mir gefällt es, mit Freunden zusammenzusitzen, ein Bier zu trinken und ein Spiel zu spielen.» Im Sommer 2020 hat sie mit zwei weiteren Spielenthusiasten das Gameorama in Luzern eröffnet – das erste interaktive Spielmuseum der Schweiz. Im dazugehörigen Brettspielcafé können natürlich auch ihre eigenen Titel «Kampf gegen das Bünzlitum» und «Arschlochkind» gespielt werden. Dr. Franziska Elmer

There are places on Earth that have been visited by almost as few people as have gone to Space. Franziska has been to one of these locations, Palmyra Atoll, a nature refuge in the middle of the Pacific. In her talk she will take you to the incredible places she visited as marine biologist and tell you why she gave up this lifestyle to fight for climate justice. Her motivation comes from the fact that 2018-2030 will likely become among the most important years in human history. Never before have we had to tackle such an immense challenge. After 2030 we will often be asked by the younger generations: “Which role did you play in this important time?” Franziska has found her role as a climate pirate.

Dr. Solaiman Shokur

Working at EPFL, Solaiman Shokurs research focus is neuroprosthetics. He was part of the team, who made the robotic suit for a paraplecic person who made the first kick at World Cup Brazil. The picture went around the world. While celebrating progress in science is only one side of the coin, Solaiman enthusiastically works on the next small steps for improving the life of people with disabilities.

Manuel Kühne

Auf seiner Webseite schreibt Manuel Kühne “Schauspieler ist kein Beruf, sondern eine Diagnose”. Mitunter bekannt aus Produktionen am Luzerner Theater, freien Produktionen und Schauspiel in Fernsehfilmen. Als Schauspieler ist er direkt von Corona betroffen. Die Bühne ist weg. Manuel Kühne ist einer von 1000-den Kunstschaffenden welche vor einer ungewissen Zukunft stehen.

Nils Landolt

I am a highly curious person who seeks to connect all kinds of areas in order to create something new. That’s also why school didn’t really give me what I needed. After founding my own company at age 21 and walking out of Student Advisory Service with eight completely different brochures, I decided to become a teacher and reinvent what it means to learn with children. After working at public school for a few years, I started as innovation manager in a marketing company where I discovered that our economy needs a new set of competences that can’t be taught but rather developed in a new way of learning guidance that has finally become crucial.
