As the world shifts to a virtual setup, we at TEDxJMC are keeping the tradition of big ideas and rich storytelling alive. Come and experience a conference which fosters learning, provokes new ideas and initiates conversations that matter in the first virtual edition of TEDxJMC. The stage is set, and the spirits are high as the day of awe and inspiration comes closer! This much-awaited conference will host incredible ideas ranging from mental health to music. This year's theme, FOCUS/UNFOCUS encapsulates the spirit of perception. With different notions for each person, it can mean anything and everything! Have you ever taken a minute to stop and stare? Have you ever felt stuck and wanted to break free? Are you ever in awe of how people have different perspectives? Discover new meanings, explore new realities, readjust our rigid definitions, and open our minds to a world of possibilities! We learn, unlearn and relearn.
With this, we set to explore and understand new dimensions of everything! Come, join us for a day brimming with ideas, insights and wonder!

Akanksha Deo Sharma

A visual artist and fashion designer by qualification, Ms. Akanksha specializes in textiles and craft. Born in 1991, New Delhi, she graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology and started working at IKEA as an in-house Designer in 2017. She has also collaborated with several Indian fashion brands and has exhibited her art as part of collaborations. She has also been featured in the Forbes India 30 under 30 list for the year 2020. Her most recent project with IKEA - Förändring, won an Elle Decor EDIDA India 2019 award, and her work has also been featured in Dezeen, Design Boom, FRAME, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, and Vogue, among others. Ms. Sharma firmly believes in leaving a positive impact on people and the planet and seeks to understand and address the ways in which society is evolving.

Ankur Warikoo

Founder of nearbuy.com; India’s No. 1 Lifestyle App, Groupon’s India business, along with Accentium Web, and Rocket Internet’s India business, Ankur Warikoo is an Indian Internet Entrepreneur. He is also an exemplary digital educator who conducts courses on entrepreneurship, career management, and personal growth, attended by 10,000+ students. Before turning into an entrepreneur, he was a Management Consultant with A.T. Kearney for three years. Fortune Magazine’s 40 under 40 List for India, LinkedIn India’s Top Voices for 2018, 2019, and 2020, LinkedIn India’s Spotlight List, India’s Top Executives under 40 by Business Today are some issues that proudly house his name. Besides this, Ankur is a regular public speaker and social media influencer, with 1.8Mn+ followers across Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.

Brinda Sharma

Brinda Sharma is a travel blogger and content creator on Instagram. Her relatable anecdotes and picturesque content have helped her amass over 300K followers on her page. Her profound love for the mountains prompted her to choose a college where she was surrounded by them. Later, she moved to Dubai, where she worked a corporate 9-5 job and established multiple streams of income in order to travel extensively. Ms. Sharma has now reached a point where she can travel full-time, all the while sharing her insights online.

Diipa Khosla

Ms. Diipa is a fashion and beauty influencer who has amassed 1.2 million followers online with her unique and creative content. She is also the co-founder of her NGO, Post for Change, dedicated towards harnessing the power of social media to address multiple issues, from mental health, gender equality to colorism. The Indian born and raised influencer is based between Amsterdam and London, when she is not globetrotting for her various projects. She has been featured on 16 magazine covers, has won the Influencer of the Year award thrice, and featured twice on the Most Influential Indian List. Renowned for her Real over Perfect mantra, she encourages her audience to show the unfiltered versions of themselves, owning their uniqueness in all its glory.

Dr. Prerna Kohli

Dr. Prerna Kohli has an impressive career as a Clinical Psychologist, spanning over 27 years. A four-time gold medalist from Aligarh Muslim University, she is the first Clinical Psychologist to be awarded by the Hon. President of India. She is a research scholar and a holistic practitioner who founded the organization MindTribe in September 2020 intending to shed light on mental health issues and the importance of inner peace through her Heart-based workshops. Alongside her contributions in the field of Psychology, she has been an adviser to various Government committees like the Press Information Bureau of India and the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights. She is also a member of the Niti Aayog Nutrition Committee and was an ex-Censor Board member.

Nikhil Taneja

Nikhil is a Mumbai-based writer, producer, storyteller, teacher, entrepreneur, and youth mental health advocate. He is the co-founder and CEO of a youth media organization called Yuvaa, which creates socially conscious entertainment and purpose-driven solutions to empower young Indians. He also serves on the Global Advisory Board of The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's community, Goalkeepers, and is the Festival Creative Director of the India Film Project. Nikhil's work has been around several issues, some of them being sex education, LGBTQ+ rights, including the 6 Pack Band, India's first transgender pop group, which won the Cannes Grand Prix Glass Lion Award in 2016. He has also led creative teams at Yash Raj Films, Viacom18 Digital, MTV India, and Hindustan Times but has found the most joy as a professor and has been teaching journalism students at Jai Hind College, Mumbai for the past seven years. He is also in the process of writing a book that tries to take the toxic out of masculinity, and it is set to be published by Penguin India in late 2021.

Ragini Tandan

Born in Ambala, this nightingale started singing at the age of 4, and at 16 got her training in Hindustani Classical Music. She made her debut with the rendition of the song ‘Nahi Jaana,' which was used by almost every bride in the country! Within a year, she lent her voice for the Punjabi hit – Lamberghini. The song, covered by singers like Neha Kakkar and Dhvani Bhanushali, has got over 400 million views on YouTube. With all the recognition, she decided to take up music as her career and recently released a new single – Mileya Ni Tu. Ms. Ragini has performed globally resonating the energy and groove in the Indian music scene. This melodious lady has also bagged an award by Sony Liv Talent Track Awards - Music Sensation of The Year in 2018. Today, Ms. Tandan dreams to etch her sensational voice and music in every heart!

Ridhima Pandey

Ridhima Pandey is a 9th-grade climate change activist who works with UNICEF India and Heirs to our Oceans Organization. She was also featured in BBC's top 100 most empowering women's list in 2020. Being the National Ambassador at AIESEC Dehradun's ignite carnival, Youth ambassador at TVE, and difficult dialogue’s global sustainability film awards, she has added many feathers to her cap. With a passion for conserving the environment, Ridhima joined Greta Thunberg in her Global Climate Strike at Manhattan, New York. She is a recipient speaker of an International conference organized by Notre affaire a tous in Paris and has also participated in various International Events like XYNTEO in Norway, the Global Pneumonia forum in Barcelona, etc.

Suhani Jalota

Suhani Jalota is the Founder and CEO of Myna Mahila Foundation, a women’s health and employment organization that is internationally recognized for its reputed work in the urban slums of Mumbai. She has worked on sanitation evaluation projects with several reputed organizations such as UNICEF, IDinsight, and the Department of Education, Philippines. Her exceptional work has yielded her various acclamations, such as being a recipient of the Forbes Asia under 30 award in 2018, Asia 21 Leader 2019, Young Achievers Mother Teresa Memorial Awardee 2018, and Queen’s Young Leader 2017. She is currently a Knight Hennessy Scholar pursuing her MBA and Ph.D. in Health Policy and Economics at the reputed Stanford University.

Vikas Khanna

Michelin star Indian chef and restaurateur Sir Vikas has worked with The Taj, The Oberoi, Welcom Group, and Leela Group of Hotels and is widely famous across the globe as a leading personality. He loved cooking as a child and was inspired by his grandmother. He is also the goodwill ambassador of Smile Foundation and supports the cause of malnutrition in India. "Cooking for life" was founded by him back in 2011 in NYC to support social causes. In 2020, he started a "Feed India" initiative backed by many other global brands to deliver and supply food to those in need. Chef Vikas also authored a book titled "Kitchens of Gratitude" that has garnered worldwide recognition. His directorial debut 'The Last Color' is a film about the daily struggles for survival on the streets of the ancient city of Banaras, India, and the film made it to the final list of Oscar 2020 Eligibility for Best Film.
