TEDxYouth@ASKosova is a youth, for youth event organized by a group of passionate students. With the aim of celebrating the strength, innovation, creativity, and impact of youth within our society. We have embraced the theme “The Power of YOUth” for the event to show how powerful young minds can be in shaping the future. Inspiring speakers and inquisitive high school minds will come together to share their inspiring stories of how they have pursued their creative and innovative ideas and have generated a positive impact in their communities. We hope that this event inspires you to find your power.

Agon Rexhepi

Agon Rexhepi is a human rights activist from Prishtina, Kosovo. He is currently studying sociology at the University of Prishtina and works directly with the Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian communities at a local NGO. Although he is only 20, he has been engaged in LGBTIQ+ activism for a few years now. Agon is also a writer and the co-founder of the queer cultural collective called “Hyjneshat”.

Dorina Azemi

Advocate of Human Rights, Gender Equality
Dorina Azemi is a junior at the American School of Kosova, aiming to finish her legal studies and defend human rights, fight discrimination against women and advance their rights in society.

Kemal Tuna Payasli

Student
Kemal Tuna Payasli is a senior at ASK and he has been suffering from ADHD for years now. After years of struggles as an ADHD patient, he found himself a way to be successful in his academic career, and now he has been accepted to some of the best universities in his country.

Yakup Özdemir

Yakup Özdemir is a student at the American School of Kosovo and aims to create an emotionally strong community that will impact future generations in a better way. He is originally from Diyarbakır, Turkey, but he lived 15 years of his life outside of his homeland which helped him gain an international perspective. Currently, he wants to study aerospace engineering and come up with new innovations which will be the changing point of the community and the world.
