Theme: Inspiration: It Starts With WHY!

TEDxYouth@IJSHS will take place on February 12, 2020 at Incheon Jinsan Science High School. The theme of the event is “Inspiration: It Starts with Why,” which meant “to breathe into.” This meant to breathe life or ideas into one’s mind, and it originally came from a divine or cosmic source. There will be seven speakers in total who will present about a wide variety of topics related to this theme. They will speak either in English or Korean about the topic of their choice.

Ingyun Ahn

student
Ingyun Ahn will represent Korea about his own experience and realization that he learned in the Incheon Jinsan Science High School. He will emphasize the importance of maintaining the balance between what we want to do and what we have to do.

Kibum Chun

student
Kibum Chun likes to tell you about one of his unique experiences from which he got inspiration most as a student studying science. And he will also talk to you about what he did and what he felt in the last summer vacation. Finally, he wants to inspire people who are in a similar situation to him through his TED talk.

Seohyeon Kang

student
Seohyeon Kang has a question, "Why did you want to come to this school?" "And what did you expect here?" She and her friends got into this school a year ago and since then they have learned and experienced many things. Although they had some hard times, they did well. She wants to share her experiences and feelings, and she hopes this will cheer you up.

Seolyeong Bae

student
Seolyeong Bae will talk about her happiness. She will tell us the way to find small and certain happiness in the school. She tells us that students can find out their happiness by their small behaviors such as looking around the vending machine, finding the valuable items from the past, and talking with friends.

Seunggi Hong

student
Seunggi Hong will give a presentation titled "You Deserve to Be Happy!" He will make you think about the real meaning of happiness with three questions. He thinks the students that they have to find out what makes them happy.

Sihwan Kim

student
Sihwan's presentation is titled “Courage to Be Happy, a Change of Lifestyle.” He will talk about the things that always change, the way to get out of the past, and the reason why people can’t change easily. Also, he will talk about how we can change to be happy based on the Psychology of Alfred Adler.

Woojin Shin

student
Woojin Shin will give a presentation about difficulties titled "Life is Like Flowing River: From the Point of View of a Book River Boy." Difficulties come after difficulties, and hardships come after hardships. And it’s going to bring you a flood of stress every time you face it. Therefore, we should learn the courage to smile happily on the saddest day.
