Our theme “Shaping Our World” emphasizes that our ideas and actions have a great impact on the community. We want our audience to understand that everyone can contribute to leaving a positive mark on the world. We hope the ideas you’ll hear at our event will inspire you to create the change you wish to see in your future.

Connie Tan

Student, Singer, Songwriter

Well-versed in the performing arts, Connie Tan received her A.A. in Music from Citrus College. She has performed with various groups such as the Pride of Temple City, Brighter Side Singers, Blue Note Jazz Orchestra, and the Citrus Singers. She marched in the 2015 Rose Parade, has performed at Disneyland, Carnegie Hall, Sheraton Hotel in Waikiki, Hawaii, and will be touring Romania and Hungary this summer. Graduating from Temple City High in 2018, Connie was also named a Horatio Alger National Scholar. She is a singer-songwriter, and hopes to put out a full album soon.

Ernie G is an Empowerment Comedian, Corporate Speaker & Mental Health Coach. A graduate of Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in Psychology and Minor in Chicano Studies, Ernie has developed his own unique form of Comedy he calls “Latino Edutainment – Educating & Entertaining with a Latino Flavor!” He has Empowered over 500,000 students nationwide & Inspired Fortune 500 Companies & Organizations, including Pepsi-Co, Disney, General Mills, Warner Bros., NASA: Langley Research Center, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He was honored with the Mario Moreno “Cantínflas” Award, the “Father of the Community Award”, and appears in the Award-Winning Transformational Film, “WeRiseUP!”

Megan Gallagher

Mental Health Advocate and Motivational Speaker for Teens, Author, Blogger

Megan Gallagher is a mental health advocate for teenagers, a #1 Bestselling author on Amazon, and Host for Afterbuzz TV. While growing up, Megan struggled with chronic anticipatory anxiety, body image issues, and panic attacks. She craved a place in her high school where she could have an open dialogue about mental health, self-care, and following your passions. She had assumed she was the only one who felt overwhelmed by the changes that come with being a teenager in today’s society. Having overcome her struggles, Megan now is the change she wants to see in the world! She currently speaks at middle schools and high schools across the country about these topics. Her mission in life is to be a voice for the voiceless and shift the school system to a more modern and loving paradigm. She currently resides in Santa Monica, CA.

Ralph Basilio

Program and Project Manager at the California Institute of Technology, Jet Propulsion Laboratory

Ralph Basilio is a Program and Project Manager at the California Institute of Technology, Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He has built a career working on state-of-the-art spaceborne remote sensing systems to advance science and improve our understanding of the world around us. He knows through first-hand experience that the human spirit and the desire to explore & achieve can overcome our fear of failure or failure itself. He earned his Ph.D. Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California, was awarded three individual NASA medals, presented with a NASA Space Act Award, and has written more than thirty technical papers.
