In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Chloe Lee speaks about the importance of letting go of the comparison of one’s qualities to ‘others’. She specifically focuses on the comparison on social media and how to step out of it, as she believes that it is important for such an issue one might not be aware of to be addressed.

Claire Oberle speaks about one of the world’s most common, yet flawed ideas; Finding your passion. Reflecting on personal experiences and psychological studies, she highlights society’s pressure to limit yourself to one passion and the negative consequences that are bound to arise because of that.

The Struggle of mental health of the African Youth
Igor Monjane will be talking about one of the most pertinent issues of the 21 century, mental health, with great emphasis on the youth of Africa. Igor will discuss some of the struggles that come with being a young man or woman in the continent of Africa pertaining to mental health, and how that environment of a struggling overall population gives way for issues related to poor mental health.

Lindsey Nathoenie

Vulnerability: the stone to a glass house
Lindsey Nathoenie speaks about the fear of vulnerability, through the eyes of people who have difficulty articulating their emotions. Lindsey highlights important points to consider about people who struggle, in order to better understand how they experience emotion, along with strategies to offer them support.
