With the theme Sirius A: None Brighter, the purpose of this conference is to bring out ideas individuals think are important and emotions they believe need to be heard. But no matter the location of Sirius A, it will always shine the brightest and just like the star, no matter where they are, if they believe in their ideas and emotions, it will spark something and change the world. With the speaker’s “light” they will motivate and empower the listeners to take action, treasure their emotions, and empathize with others. In a sky full of stars, “Sirius A” will always shine through with passion, warmth, and intensity.

Life can suck, and sometimes you can be stuck sitting around unable to bring yourself to do anything. Becoming senile with every. passing. moment. That was where I was around 6 months ago. Stuck in my head, my mind static. As I sat at the intersection of action, I decided to make a change to my way of life and way of thinking. To say I’ve come a long way in these last 6 months would be an understatement, and in my journey to become self-validated and self-propelled, I am on my way to becoming wholly new. I would like to share my strategies and experiences.

It is not unusual to come across individuals who make wishes to “have the talent she does and have the beauty he has” to also make judgments that “she lacks talents and he looks disgusting”. But why? As we are raised to believe strict outlines created by society and to accept the judgments oppressed upon us, we begin to adopt these traits and become the “abusers” to speak for our personal insecurities within. To acknowledge that judgments bloom from personal fears can help us empathize and avoid implementing our problems onto others while we become grateful for what we were granted.

Today’s world is vastly different than the world of 100 years ago. Thanks to the innovations of those that have come before us, modern humans live a very techno-centric lifestyle. With the aid of technology, human life has improved exponentially from the phones in your pockets to the displays showing our presentations. While the benefits of technology couldn’t be more transparent, there are also downsides. The rise of social media and its influence on modern day youth culture is definitely one of the most defining moments of our history, impacting the social atmosphere for generations to come. In this midst of this period of change, do not lose yourself to the internet, do not let yourself be defined by statistics and clout.
