On the 27th of March 2021, the TEDxChamplainCollegeStLambert event organized by students in any CEGEP of Quebec will be held. Our theme, Invisible Forces, will be discussed both in French and in English. We want to initiate the next wave of change, thus our subjects are thought-provoking and address diverse topics.

Abhishek Gupta

AI Ethics Researcher
Abhishek Gupta is the Founder and Principal Researcher at the Montreal AI Ethics Institute and a Machine Learning Engineer at Microsoft where he serves on the CSE Responsible AI Board. He was invited by the US Department of State to represent Canada on the Future of Work as part of the International Visitor Leadership Program. His research focuses on applied technical and policy methods to address ethical, safety and inclusivity concerns in AI.. He has built the world’s largest public consultation group on AI ethics and his work on public competence building in AI Ethics has been recognized by governments from North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.

David Langer

Neurosurgeon
David J. Langer is American neurosurgeon who is chair of neurosurgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. In addition, he is a professor of neurosurgery and radiology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Langer was a star on the 2020 Netflix docu-series, Lenox Hill.

James Jervis

James Jervis teaches in the Humanities Department of Champlain College St Lambert, Québec. He holds a MA in Islamic Studies (McGill University) and a PhD in Religious Studies (Concordia University). He is interested in heresies and syncretism in religio-spiritual traditions, in conspiracy theorizing, and in ancient history.

Kim Thúy

Canadian Writer
Kim Thúy Ly Thanh, CQ is a Vietnamese-born Canadian writer, whose debut novel Ru won the Governor General's Award for French-language fiction at the 2010 Governor General's Awards.

Martin Juneau

Cardiologist
A cardiologist and a director of Prevention at the Montreal Heart Institute. He is also a clinical professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal.

Paul Mirshak

Professor
Marketing Professor at Champlain College. His professional experience includes positions as the Sales and Marketing director for the Central Hockey League; International Brand Management with Dial Corporation; Brand Management with Molson Coors; and work as a market research consultant.

Teresa Norris

Sexual Health Educator
She is the Founding President of HPV Awareness, a National, bilingual registered charity since 2006.
