In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Jinan Abd Alkareem

A trainer who controls stuttering, provides workshops for middle school students in a secondary school in Baghdad to control stuttering and confront the bullying society. Jinan motivate and develop lectures for weak or shy people. Jinan works also as editor and writer for Adwaa electronic magazine since 2018, Jinan addresses real and sensitive issues in society that negatively affect the lives of young people.

Mamoon Yaqoub Abd-Alhameed

Artist
Mamoon Yaqoub Abd-Alhameed was born in 1996 from Heit Al-Anbar, interested in electronic music specially, now interested in sound in general due to the fact that sound is as important as picture if not even more, maybe it’s true that picture show you the scene but sound is the only thing that can make you feel it. Graduated from Yes academy, and the first Iraqi that got fellowship for the years 18-19-20, also got American music abroad “AMA” certificate. Mamoon got selected by Iraqi beats as producer and electronic music distributor “OneBeat”. Mamoon is enthusiastic to develop the electronic music genre in Iraq, because all the countries around the world rely on it in all ways of production like sounds and effects creating, also trying to create a big community to it in the future because there is no such a thing as “wasting time” as long as you are doing something you love, eventually it will became your inspiration.

Maryam Waleed

Architect
Maryam Waleed is an Architect, and a mother of a hemophilia boy. Living in Iraq where challenges are an everyday lifestyle, Maryam decided to contribute to her society and start her voluntary work one year after graduation by doing the one thing she’s so fond of - photography. She has joined the documentation team of a UNDP-funded project named Innovation for Development Youth Program a project aimed to up-skill young females and males in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. Recently Maryam participated as a virtual facilitator in the cross-cultural World Affair Virtual Exchange Challenge (WACVE) with participants from Iraq and USA, for the young students to develop their leadership, community solutions, and inter-cultural skills. Maryam holds a BSc in Architecture for the University of Baghdad. Through her time raising a son with a bleeding disorder and helping adolescents through youth-focused programs.

Mohammed Nameer

Mohammed Nameer, 24 years old, graduated from Technical Institute-Kirkuk Civil Technologies Department-Building and Constructing Branch, ranked first in my class for the year 2018-2019. Third year student Architecture Engineering student in University of Technology for the current year 2021-2022. Mohammed published a book called “hundreds of years-selections of Iraqi Architecture”. Mohammed is interested in the history of Iraqi architecture and spreading Architectural culture.

Monaf Joda Hassan

Monaf Joda Hassan from Babylon Almatadia city born in 1996, finished his elementary and high school in it, studied law and graduated from Al-Mustakbal University in 2019. Worked in the electronics field when he was 10, then accomplished his dream in the trading of computers and cameras, opened his own shop named “Monaf for electronics” in the heart of the city. Decided to establish “Quarter Dinar house” project that is specialized in helping poor people in his city by collecting donations from shops owners, friends and city citizens to build and rehabilitate homes for poor people and families of those who lost their beloved ones in war to help them, he even rehabilitated schools and planted trees. All this work is just to change the reality of poor people whom the majority in the society and honoring the name of his city Al-Matadia. His ambition is to reach all the states in Iraq and give his services to the Iraq people.

Mortaza Shakir

Swimmer
Born in 2003, a former Iraqi Paralympic swimmer and participant in many tournaments. He won the first place in the 2021 Iraq championships, 50 meters and 100 meters freestyle, and second place in the Iraq and Middle and South Euphrates championships.

Iraq’s ambassador for artificial intelligence for the student category in 2020, won the award for the best project in the Middle East in the global competition to combine creativity and technology. Licensing to train artificial intelligence for children to become the youngest licensed trainer to train children.

Skyers Group

Skyers established in the year 2017, A band with a western touch, we play different kinds of music, rock most of the time. Skyers have been working on the idea since 2021. Skyers faced internal and external difficulties, (Especially that they didn’t receive any kind of finance). Iraq was and still is facing challenges that play a crucial role in deciding the group fate, but Skyers strong will and dedication for the team, helped the group to achieve its goals.

Teba Riad - Aws Kadhim

Teba is interested in social and voluntary work and programming. She shared with her colleague Aws Kadhim an invention that would change a person's life and end his suffering in communicating with others for the purpose of directing attention to the deaf and dumb community in Iraq. Aws Kadhim is one of the inventors of the "talking glove" is a general medicine student who is interested in programming and electronics. Always looking forward to helping the community and representing Iraq in forums and conferences. He participated in a conference held by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, as well as winning several competitions held in Iraq.

Yusur Yasir

12 years old, she started learning from the age of 8. She was influenced by an American violinist. She loved to learn music. The music teacher and her family supported and encouraged her until she reached this stage. Her hobby is playing and swimming. She dreams of becoming a pilot in the future.
