Curtis Graham

Teacher
Curtis is a high school math teacher of 13 years. Originally he got into mathematics instruction because he loved the subject, and wanted others to enjoy it too. When he started teaching he realized that for most students, learning to love math was inhibited in many ways by how vulnerable students felt while learning. Over the years Curtis has learned to help students become aware of their feelings and overcome defensive mechanisms that limit them in accomplishing their dreams. Curtis is excited to share with you today how he helps students recognize unproductive thoughts and beliefs, and help push students towards being comfortable with being uncomfortable. Curtis has presented on various topics such as Project-Based Learning, Teaching with Bloom’s in mind, and RTI in the classroom. He writes curriculum and is part of the teacher leadership committee at Fox High School. He is currently one month away from achieving an EDd in Teacher Leadership.

Denise Purdy

Transformational Life Coach
Denise Purdy is a premier transformational coach helping women achieve success and satisfaction in this era of unlimited opportunity to achieve, where too often, limiting beliefs hold them from their dreams. As a business owner and mom of 3, Denise felt the desire to be successful in both arenas but struggled to achieve harmony between the two. She discovered generations of limiting beliefs were passed down to her in the child-rearing process and made a decision to change them. Her pain has been turned into her passion. She helps other women heal generations of mental and emotional struggle so they and their children live consciously and peacefully.

Matthew Sebalja

Student
Matthew is a dual-enrolled student at Fox Senior High School and Jefferson College. During his time in school, Matthew has unfortunately lost contact with many friends and peers, as they have either dropped out of high school due to their home lives, their mental state, or their struggles with addiction. This has inspired him to speak out on the causes of mental health issues both in the classroom and in everyday life. He aspires to shine a light on the causes and aspects of mental health issues in youth that many people don't see; from the perspective of an individual who has witnessed the gradual development of mental health problems firsthand.

Sean Smith

Master Results Coach
Sean was nearly killed by this next-door neighbor when he was 13 years old. In the hospital that night, realizing death can take us at any time without warning, he made a vow to himself that he would never take life for granted again. He dove into the world of personal development and now owns a self-help speaking and coaching company that supports people around the world in achieving their biggest goals and dreams. He has published thousands of articles, audios and videos related to success, happiness and achievement. His first book about self-esteem and parenting, “Daddy, Are You Proud of Me?” will be released in early 2020. He resides in Southern California with his wife Cybil, daughter McKenna, and son Ecksley.

Tiffany Laybourn

Special Education Teacher
Tiffany Laybourn is a teacher, soldier and mother. During childhood she dreamt of a simple life, but adult life turned out to be anything but simple. After a marriage, a child and college Tiffany was moved to Germany on military orders. Living far from family and friends forced Tiffany to rely heavily on social media to stay connected. She soon realized her life wasn’t as easy as her Facebook made it seem. When her husband deployed she was alone in a foreign country with a difficult preschooler. She had to be honest about her son’s special needs and the adversity they were facing. She questioned her parenting skills and her self worth, until she found other mothers who helped her see through the veil of social media. Tiffany wants to share her story in hopes that other parents will realize they don’t have to be perfect and that’s perfectly okay!
