In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Carla Rocha has been a radio host and presenter in multiple radio shows, such as "Café da Manhã" on RFM or "3 da Manhã" on Renascença. She is also a consultant in the area of communication, and focuses on helping entrepreneurs, managers, and companies to improve the way they communicate with their teams, partners and customers. She is also the author of the books "Speak less, communicate more - 10 strategies to become a great communicator" and “Speak less, influence more – 5 strategies to be more influent”.

Catarina Ramos

Catarina nasceu em Faro, no dia 10 de janeiro de 2001, numa pequena vila - São Brás de Alportel. Cresceu num ambiente cheio de amor, num lar muito peculiar com duas pessoas que lhe ensinaram tudo aquilo que sabiam: os seus "avós". Catarina costuma dizer que é a soma deles os dois e um pequeno resto de todas as outras pessoas que sempre a rodearam. Considera-se uma mulher feliz, porém ainda com muito por alcançar. É muito sonhadora, sendo exatamente isso que lhe permite, muitas vezes, tocar a mudança.

Eduardo Rêgo

Eduardo Rêgo, responsável pela versão portuguesa dos programas VIDA SELVAGEM e O NOSSO MUNDO – de que é também locutor – granjeou a simpatia e preferência dos telespectadores, em Portugal, nos 27 anos de existência da televisão SIC. Com 68 anos de idade e uma visão holística do mundo e da vida, tem dedicado o melhor de si à necessidade de equilíbrio, na Terra que habitamos. O movimento LOVING THE PLANET, que fundou em 2016, é uma plataforma global de comunicação, baseada na consciência, para combater as inúmeras agressões à natureza e ao clima cometidas pela espécie humana. Segundo ele, é tarde demais para ficar parado. O planeta está doente, mas tem cura.

Gonçalo Folgado

Architect Urbanist

Gonçalo Folgado is an architect urbanist, graduated in 2012 from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon (FA-UL). He has a postgraduate degree in Urbanism from the Faculty of Engineering of the Portuguese Catholic University, where he received a grant from the Foundation Calouste Gulbenkian. He is a founding member of u:iclc (Informal Collective for Living Cities), member of the FA - UL GESTUAL, research group, founder and chairman of the LOCALSAPPROACH Association, and also a founding member and deputy chairman of the B2M Friends Association. Currently, Gonçalo works on the issues of Proximity Urbanism and Participation-Based Urban Local Development.

Hedi Young

Hedi Young grew up in London and studied biology at Oxford University, before pursuing a career in the BBC as a documentary-maker for several years. Currently, he is a neuroscience PhD student at the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown, where he conducts research in the Cortical Circuits Lab.

Jéssica Bronze

Jéssica Bronze has a Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences. She was born in 1994, in a poor neighbourhood. During her academic career, she joined several social projects and joined an award-winning theatre group she ended up coordinating. She enjoys writing (especially, poetry) and walking in nature. She is currently developing her entrepreneurship skills with new projects.

Francisco Murta é um artista multifacetado que não só escreve as letras e compõe a música das suas canções, como toca vários instrumentos, piano, guitarra, baixo, ukulele, e quer continuar a aprender e a adquirir o máximo de conhecimento no universo musical. Em 2016, concorreu ao programa televisivo “The Voice Portugal”, onde chegou à Gala final. Em 2019, lançou o seu primeiro álbum entitulado "D'Art Vida".

Naky Gaglo

Like many others, Naky had to leave his home country as a refugee, after going through difficult situations that forced him and his family to seek better, peaceful conditions. Currently, he is living in Portugal, where he created a touristic platform, called African Lisbon Tour, with the goal to share about the lost, covered, unknown or silenced history of Portugal and the African Continent.

Pedro Passos

Sport sciences researcher + Assistant professor

Pedro Passos is a Professor at Faculdade de Motricidade Humana, Universidade de Lisboa, where he teaches Motor Control and Learning. He graduated in Physical Education and Sports in 1995, took the MSc degree in Sport Psychology in 1999 and the PhD in Sport Sciences in 2008. He has several international peer-reviewed publications, books and chapters in books. His research interests are in the area of motor coordination at an intra and interpersonal level of analysis, where currently he is developing research projects related with the landscapes of possibilities of passing in football, and also with synergies formation in the course of an action.

Sophia Hodgkinson

Social entrepreneur + Medical student

Sophia is a social entrepreneur, Director of Health Policy at the European Medical Students' Association and third-year medical student at the University of Turin. She believes education is key to improve quality of life and, consequently, solve many public health issues. She founded a startup, Omnes Education, to make medical education accessible for all, one med-school at a time.
