Theme: Creative Talk

This first Salon aims to recount all the compelling stories about the production of creative works from Robin and Cako’s perspectives. These stories are guaranteed to evoke a strong feeling of creation, consequently making us ponder about the artistic side within ourselves!

The talk will be quite experimental and unexpected. However, it will connect people and engage them in conversation with our guest speakers

Anh Phi (Cako) Tran

Artist

Cako Tran is a creative director, filmmaker and electronic music producer currently based in Saigon. Raised by vietnamese parents in the Parisian suburbs, he spent his early career working for music record labels, advertising agencies and brands. Cako came to Vietnam to explore his roots and collaborate with the local creative scene. He is questioning heritage, cultural identity and the future in an era of globalisation and uniformity. Beside his film projects and his co-operation with Robin Mahieux, Cako is now preparing his first electronic music EP, bridging his East & West influences.

Robin Mahieux

Filmmaker

Robin Mahieux is a filmmaker and an artist who was raised in a multicultural family of 9 children in Toulouse, France. Currently living in Asia, he has found himself being fascinated with the local traditional film-making as well as the youth/tech cultures, he is challenging himself to create compelling story-telling style and experiences by using 3D mapping, motion capture and live music together. Coming from a technical background in filmmaking makes Robin a perfectionist on set and a technical worker out of film sets. He polishes each of his works and crafting each video uniquely. He has been directing worldwide with artists like Kiko Mizuhara, Louis Koo, AngelaBaby, Jessica Jung, Henry Lau,... He has shot for brands like Adidas, Cartier, Nowness and Onitsuka Tiger,... with the mind to always make the most authentic films possible.
