The theme for our TEDx event this time around is ‘A GREAT CHANGE’. Though the theme comprises 3 absolutely simple words, the meaning behind it, is a lot more powerful and overarching than it seems. The idea of change is often times felt close to a person, but distant in some ways, for many changes we experience are intangible. However, the changes in us or around us are truly inevitable, and are actually a lot closer to us than we can imagine; some changes are controllable, others are involuntary. There are many other big words that fall into the realm of change: evolution, diversity, expansion and inequality to name a few. While the theme is rather abstract and diverse, and can be interpreted in many different ways, we are anticipating and envisioning an exciting speaker’s line-up. All in all, this overarching theme of ours should not restrict or dictate the content of the speaker’s talk, giving a wide diversity of topics, disciplines, tones and perspectives in our line-up.
